Can a newbie REALLY make money online?

Hi Everyone,

I have stumbled upon your website, and hope to get some help from you guys.

I'm new to all of this making money online stuff, I have been looking into this for a very long time now, but I'm very sceptical about it.

In almost all the "ADVICE" I have got from courses I bought and followed and all the free stuff that is popping up like mushrooms everywhere nowadays, I feel like they are just sugar coating their "Advice" to sell you something or to enroll into another soul sucking course.

I do think that there are honest people out there that give genuine advise, but I can't distinguish between who is honest and who's not.

I would really appreciate some advice, I'm starting to feel really desperate now.

Thank you,

Rahma.

I guess you have been through the shining goods syndrome. Well, that is the route of many before finally realizing.

Here is what got me out of it and started getting me results

-Do not buy a new course, software, or just about any product until you want to use it to improve a section in your business.Example, if you want to learn list building then and only then you can buy a list building course. if it is traffic then a traffic course.

You do this to learn the basic steps and strategies. Then take action on that until you see results.

The key is to Take action there is no magic or easier way to make money online. Take action and stick to it. If you are really serious here are steps you can start following.

_No matter what you want to do online it is very important to do a serious research about the business or niche you want to follow.
_set up Blog where you would use to make you audience get to know, Like, and trust you.(yes even for those who want to do e-commerce stores etc)
_ Send traffic to that blog or website
_start building some for of List that you can use to market to

There are many blog posts, Video tutorials, and content i general online that can get you started in any of those steps.

Remember no matter what you do if you do not take action there is not going to be any result. Hope that will help

        YES!!!

However, you must remember this is not going to be some quick overnight thing.

There are many scammers out there, but there are also very hardworking, loyal marketers that do want to help you make money online.

First and foremost, remain focused. If you have recently bought any product, or plan to by one soon, just focus 100% on that product and that product only...if you keep buying things trying to learn, you will just be out of money, and you will get discouraged quickly, and more than likely not be succeeding with anything you try.

Pick one area of internet/affiliate marketing you want to learn from, and stick to it.

        Does that make sense?

I'm always here to chat if you would like!

How about you STOP being sceptical and actually do some WORK.

"I feel like they are just sugar coating their "Advice" to sell you something or to enroll into another soul sucking course."

My "Advice" to you is stop worrying about what other people are doing and focus on the money making activities..

If you've been looking into making money online for a while and haven't done anything then no course or honest advice or anything for that matter will help you.

Want to hear an honest advice?

    1. Learn how list building works
    2. Learn how email marketing works
    3. Build a list
    4. Email market

Please update us on your results. Thank You!

Can a newbie make money? Impossible question. (No offense, Rahma.) It depends on the newbie, you see. If I had to guess - and it truly would be a guess - I would look at the quality of writing in your original post (excellent, given that English is not likely to be your first language) and your determination to become successful online (evidenced by your purchases and the tenacity that lead to your thread here) and I would suggest that you might be able to make it. There are many variables at play here; might is the best I or anyone thus far can offer.

    So! Suggestion:

    1. Stop spending money.
    2. Spend time, instead, and educate yourself for free.
    3. Decide on the right method for you.
    4. Take action.

You'll soon find out if you have what it takes.

    .
The first think I would do is, start believing that there are people who want to help you. If you already think we are all evil, then wow you have a problem.

If 20% is evil, and you don't want to meet them, you will also never meet the 80% who is good.

When I first started my business I bought many courses as well, many of us have been there. When there is no easy way to verify the credibility of the writer, the courses he/she is selling might be pure theory and you might end up wasting your time on something that may never work.

    Instead, there is another way.

    1. Find a marketplace that gets a lot of traffic and displays sellers' stats (amount sold, date listed, etc.).

    2. Research what successful sellers are selling and reverse engineer their production process.

    3. Now you can either a) create a new product/service; or b) build upon the ideas of other successful sellers to make your product stand out.

    4. Write down the list of things you need to launch your product. Hire outsourcers to do the work you cannot do and do the rest yourself (to save money).

    5. Launch your product and let the marketplace take care of the traffic.

    6. Watch the sales (or lack of if your product is bad).

    7. Learn how to drive more traffic to your product and spend part of your revenue implementing the ideas. Some will fail and you might lose money, that's normal. Some might work.

    8. Create other products/services and cross promote them.

The idea behind this is that you can leverage the traffic of an already established marketplace and start making *some* money online fairly easily and relatively quickly. This will motivate you to work harder on getting more traffic and expanding your business.

You can't expect people to SPOON FEED you

You have to take the information available at this forum and test them out

Figure out which path fits your time availability, skills, and patience

There is NO MAGIC PILL for success

You pay for it with FAILURE and MOTIVATION.

It is a MARATHON not a sprint and WILL test your strength of CHARACTER.

Yes you can, but it takes a lot of time and effort. I don't think that after reading some kind of magical money making guide/ ebook you will start making money. I really doubt it, because you see that would be too easy...

Just look through this forum, read stories of other members, how they started making money, what methods did they use... And maybe after some time you will figure out something by yourself, find out good method, which is perfect for you. That would be my simple advice, and good luck!

That's because of you don't know what you are looking for. You don't set your goal. And you are always afraid to get a coach to help you since you're more skeptical (actually to yourself and your own ability).

You're simply looking for an angel (best free coach) here, but never realize you compete with same hundreds (if not thousands) newbies to reach him... if he ever exists here.

So, wake up. Take your action and be the angel, instead of searching him.

but I can't distinguish between who is honest and who's not.
A lot of people have this problem - not just newbies.

It can be tough as you have people with no conscience of any kind who will say absolutely anything to try to get your money.

It may seem counter-intuitive but it's usually the ones who seem the most "caring" and eager to be your "friend" who are the worst scammers.

Telling the honest, experienced people from the phony, lying weasels is an important skill to develop.

In this arena, this may be the most important skill a newbie can acquire. Unfortunately, most of us learned it by blocking a few punches with our faces.

Of course most of the course sellers want to sell you another course (theirs) - it's what they do. Some courses are worth it, many are not. Telling the difference gets us back to that getting your nose bloodied a few times deal.

It's easy to make money on the internet, just sell stuff on ebay. That's a real quick way.

But to set up a business and make profit from it is a much longer term project. Small consistent daily action is what works, like writing a blog post one day, make a video the next, write a free report over the next three days. Do this for 30 days and you will have created far more than the average person.

Here's a great tip, turn the internet off and do what you need to do with no distractions from your email, facebook or other social media accounts.

You will learn as you go and if you need help contact someone and ask.

Everyone here who has been successful was a newbie at one time. However, very few became successful as a newbie. It was only after some time, some experience, some trial and error, and a lot of hard work that they became successful. In other words, it didn't happen overnight. So, as a newbie, you can expect good things to happen to you in the near future if you follow the good advice you find here.

Start off by reading quality material on this forum (and use the "search" feature), and with each thing that you learn... immediately do it. So if you come across a page that talks about "squeeze pages"... go out and create one for fun, and see if you can drive traffic to it using paid advertising. In particular PPC. If you're able to do this and actually get some people to sign up to your squeeze page & email newsletter... this will give you a HUGE confidence boost.

    Hi All,

I feel much better about earning an income online now, I can't thank you guys enough for all you advice and encouragement.

I have some background in design. I have started a Youtube channel a few days ago (suggested from a course I bought), I don't know if the whole youtube thing will workout, but I'll keep working on it see where that leads me.

I was also thinking to sell some design work on Etsy.

      1. Stay with Youtube.
      2. Expand your channel.
      3. Showcase your design and ability (uniquely/differently if possible, such as tutorial maybe).
      4. Share something valuable to your viewer (including: gift - that you can create yourself).
      5. Go to related design forum and hang-out in there with your YT channel.
      6. And you don't need to worry creating any blog. YT is enough for now.
      7. Promote your etsy in YT.
      8. You may also want to try creativemarket.com, graphicriver.com, fiverr.com with instant delivery, etc.

      Good luck!

sure, a newbie can make money online but the best way to do it is to help other people solve their problems. first you have to decide on the niche you want to work on, follow your passion, find the problems that the people in that niche are facing.

create a blog on the niche and post solutions to the problems. To me online business is just like offline business in the sense that people have problems and help them provide solutions to their worries, there are some little difference in online and offline biz but the basics are the same

    * find a niche
    * identify their worries
    * create a blog and provide solutions to their worries,
    * drive traffic to it
    * collect their emails
    * create info products on the solutions and sell it to them

Yes a newbie can make money.

My advice...be a sponge. Research as much as you can. Google as much as you can. Learn as much as you can.

BUT...while you're doing this IMPLEMENT as much as you can.

Take action. See what you like. What you don't like. What works. What doesn't work.

This is the step many newbies miss and is the reason why they're not successful online.

If you are asking if you can make money quickly as a newbie then my answer is that it is possible, but very very unlikely. So do not plan to be able to quit your day job in less than 2 years time. It might take longer than that. Now of course you hear about the new guy who quickly makes money and quits his day job after 6 months, but those are the exception. You also need to be ready to put in a LOT of work. This stuff is not easy.

Also don't buy into anything that makes it sound like you will be making a lot of money in a very short amount of time. Just walk away.

PS: Once again be ready to put in work, and don't expect instant results <-----Just in case you missed it before.

      Hi Rahma,

I would like to say Anyone who has made Big online was a newbie at some point,
The only thing that differentiates is these people take massive action,
Dont be Sceptical about this,Focus on one core aspect at a time and dont go chasing multiple methods to making money online,

Do things one by one and take massive action on each step as sitting on the fence will not help you either,

I can understand that in trying out new products we may loose money ,but take this as a bussiness oppurtunity some day you loose and someday you win,

Everyone who comes into this industry things that they will become rich overnight without putting in the hard yards,This is absolutely wrong, you gotta give time,In the initial set up you may need to give even more time that in your usual bussiness, As the time goes by the work load gets considerably less trust me on this as i have been through this,

Let me know if you need any help starting online

First, stick to ONE plan, opt out of as many lists as possible and stick with the few you really need, this will help you concentrate,

Yes you can make money online as a newbie, most of us successful Internet marketers were newbies at the beginning. However the road to success in Internet marketing is not easy, be prepared for the bumpy road ahead but it is how you apply yourself which determines if you succeed or not. I suggest you get a mentor to guide you along the way and give you 1 on 1 coaching.

Everyone was a newbie at one point. In fact, it wasn't very long ago that John Lee Dumas and I were hanging (we're both from Portland Maine) out chatting about Entrepreneur on Fire after he gave a presentation to our local tweet up group of about 20 people. Look where he is now. The guy takes action and focuses on one task like a pro!

Pretty much what everyone here is saying it what needs to happen. You gotta pick something and just start doing it. All the info you need to start and profitable business is free online. People just feel better about paying for it because they this it adds value to the content.

Most all IMers give away all the info for free. Then, they condense what they've already taught in a course and sell it.

There's no magic bullet or easy way out. You do actually have to do something in order to make money online. However, it's VERY possible to do.

There is no magic method to make money online. If someone is selling you this then don't buy it since it's probably a scam. No one will ever sell their awesome new method to make $100 per day for just $19.99 in a PDF.

As an advice as others have suggested: Stop spending money on unnecessary stuff. And just buy a good hosting with a domain and start building a list around a hot niche with good products. With a big list of around 1000 people then you can make money more easily.
