Article Marketing Results

What's going on warriors,

I recently tried out article marketing after hearing about it so much...

Submitted like 50 articles, got like 540 or so clicks, and 4 sales on a $197 product!

Not bad right?

Well, my goal is to get like 4 sales EVERYDAY - this process took about 3 - 4 weeks to happen.

What I can do is, since I now know my numbers, hire people to write my articles and put out 50 articles a day. This will cost me $250 and I will bring in about $800 - so I get maybe $550 or so in profits daily.

The issue that comes to mind, is if there is enough traffic coming to articles, where it makes sense to publish 50 daily?

I am in the dating niche, if I may add.

What do you guys think, does this plan make sense?

Everything comes down to a preference, but I would never submit 50 articles a day in the same niche to the same places. At the very most, I will limit my submissions to three or four articles a day per different niche.

When you do bulk submissions like that, in essence you're competing with yourself. If you submit three to four a day you'll have a steady flow of traffic for a long time to come and you'll probably notice that the amount of traffic they get per day is relatively close to the same amount you would get if you submitted all 50.

    Thanks Jeremy.

That's what I was thinking - I guess article marketing can be scaled but is LIMITED.

Like with PPC - depending on the market of course, I could pay $1 a day and then scale up to $1,000 a day, very scalable.

Article marketing on the other hand has a peak, but I'd like to hear from others as well, please post your suggestions.

That is way cool. This is something I am looking into as well.

The product I promote too is $197.

I haven't sent out any articles yet but I have been researching how to write them and about Ezine marketing in particular.

I am new to all this, and don't have any proof to back this up, but isn't it better to submit articles directly to Ezines that match what your niche is?

I mean if you are in the Dating Niche then wouldn't you be best to put ads or articles directly in those?

Obviously straight out article marketing has worked for you.

    Well done!

      Phil,

When you do keyword research, you'll notice that article directories often rank very high for a wide variety of different keywords. There is a ton of traffic to be gotten for anybody that can write a decent article, provide good information, and have a strong call to action in the resource box.

    Hey Phil,

Thats a good idea - haven't tried it yet.

I kept hearing about how ezinearticles is the best place, so I just went there, tested, and things worked out well.

I've got to try direct as well.

Hey, $800 is $800, right? Good job! Now, what I would add here is to think more about each article in terms of increasing the CTR from the article to your sales page, and then probably most importantly, improving your sales page's conversion rate.

First, it does vary considerably from niche to niche, but honestly, 540 clicks from 50 articles is not great. You monetized it well (~$1.50 per click), but you have major upside there. Imagine if you'd gotten twice as many clicks (very achievable).

The key is better article titles to get more views, and then leaving the reader wanting more so they'll be more likely to click your call-to-action link at the end. You might be amazed at how many more clicks you get from really concentrating on these aspects of each article.

Second, it would pay off I bet to get a real pro (find one here at WF, just ask around) to check out your sales page and suggest changes to ramp up your conversion rate. With such a high-ticket item ($197 a pop), even marginal improvement in conversion rate will put a lot more money in your pocket for the same amount of work.

I don't think there is a need to submit anywhere near that many articles per day. It sounds like you have a quality product that converts well although I am not sure you can say that yet with a limited sample size. I would try and experiment with different keywords, etc... Also, make sure you are always building a list.

Right, I guess 5 articles a day with higher conversions would hit the spot!

Definitely. With article marketing you want quality over quantity at all times. The people you are selling to aren't robots or something. They recognize quality or crap just as you or I would.

With some types of advertising you can take the "through enough dung at the wall and some will stick" approach, but not with article marketing.

Everything I've published so far is of quality, or so I think.

And even if I were to hire, I'd make sure it was all good quality stuff.

I should've based this site on something that is scalable. Maybe I'll get 10 - 20 sales from this, but I'd like to do that DAILY. Unless I go into several niches and do articles for each one - article marketing won't get the results I want.

I mean, it's really awesome and all - but there are scalability issues with it. With time, I can see $10k/month coming from several niches and several info products, strictly from articles - but not to much more then that.
