Publishing articles to a large number of directories

Hey all,

Does it make any sense to publish the same content to multiple article directories? Of course, it can help us get back links.

But will every such article appear in search results?

Just now I searched with a text snippet and 1 result appeared in Google along with 227 omitted results.

Can any one explain this?

I've done both -- submitting a single article to 700 directories and then submitted 30 different articles (in the niche) to the same directory. I'm inclined to believe that the latter is better.

As for the links, if you are using the same link in the resource box each time, Google will not show them all, but you will still get PR karma. For example, if I search for the title of an article I submitted to 700+, they don't all individually come up, but my main site is highly ranked for that keyword.

I don't get it .... You can use Google search box but not the forum search box.. This question is asked over and over and many of us have answered it over and over.

      who told you that?

      it is "relative"
if you are competing against a site in serps that has NO articles you win (actually you beat the crap out of em)

If they have articles and you 'match' that.. you're not gonna get the same outstanding results...

in my niche (local SEO) the local webmasters I'm competing with have zero clue, I'm mopping up the floor with them with only one mediocre article.
