    Hi konnorVPB,

If you mean paying for multiple VPS accounts, then no. From the VPS plans I've seen, it would be way more expensive to have multiple single accounts, than just having one that can handle more traffic.

How much traffic are you getting? Unless it's a crapload of traffic all at one time, a shared hosting plan would probably be plenty fast enough. Like hostgator or bluehost. Just sayin. Plus it's way cheaper...

Multiple VPS servers with good resources won't be cheaper than a single good dedicated server.

    Dedicated server, always.

I don't cost so much and you're 100% sure what happens on your server.

A single VPS can handle hundreds of accounts with millions of daily visits, if configured properly... tuned correctly... and with proper resources... i.e. 16GB of ram, 500GB of SSD hard disk space, something other than apache... i.e. Nginx, Litespeed, etc... with memcache and OPCache etc... for a high speed webhosting experience.

Dedicated servers are great if you need all the processing power of the server to run processes such as a mail server, high traffic and bandwidth sites, i.e. streaming videos, etc... However I would also agree that a properly tuned shared hosting account would also be sufficient for most users, depending on usage of the account.

Many times web hosting companies under tune their hosting to under perform and force clients to upgrade to VPS and Dedicated accounts when they really don't need to do so... just to put more money in their pockets...

Some companies even market their VPS products as it they are Dedicated offers... when they in fact are not.. again... just to turn a buck and in a way that consumers are unaware they are being duped...

I'm talking about really big companies... which many are using... and most clients don't even know they are getting SCREWED by their hosting providers...

We do things a little differently...

Now if you have super high traffic sites and are running multiple VPSs already... you may want to get a dedicated server, then virtualize it into multiple VPSs for your own use... that way one VPS on the node can fail and your other VPSs/sites will stay up... rather than crashing the whole VPS if all accounts were on one single VPS.

What is the VPS used for? Without knowing this, I can't provide a good recommendation.
