Must I Include Authors Link in Articles from Ezinearticles.com?

by magentawave 8 replies
I want to use a bunch of articles from Ezinearticles.com, etc. for my site. I won't be modifying these articles. To avoid the duplicate content issue, these articles will NOT be included in my sitemap and will NOT be linked to from anywhere else on my site. I will also put a no robots-no index-no follow tag in them. The only links to them will be in my once per week newsletter.

Of course the end of every article has a link to the authors site, so the question is...

Instead of including a link to the authors website at the end of the article, would it be cool to ONLY put their name and url like this...

Author: Joe Blow from JoeBlowsWebsite.com
(Obviously "JoeBlowsWebsite.com" would NOT be a link.)

Is it okay to do that, or do I have to put the authors link?

Thanks.
Steve

Of course it needs to be a link- these people aren't submitting articles for their health! :-)

Read the TOS of the article directory. Yes, you MUST include the links,
otherwise you can't use the articles.

      It's that simple.

Authors hate that. Besides, one of the TOS when you use article is:

Agree to make all links so that they are Active/Linkable with no syntax changes.

Looks like you got the right answer.

No it is not okay to do that. Yes, you have to use the author's link - AND - it must be clickable. Anything else is exactly the kind of thing that drives article writers crazy (and rightfully so).

To be fair, I think it is really cool that you asked instead of assuming it was okay. To be honest, no one is going to complain about the links being there.

Out of curiosity, why were you wanting to remove them?

p.s. I also belive ezinearticles only allows you to use up to 25 articles from their site, per year. Like Steven said, read the TOS; there's lots of stuff you can and cannot do.
