Best way to backup wordpress

Hi warriors!
I have many wordpress sites.
Until today I though my hosting company was creating weekly backups.
Today I found out that because they are over 150,000 nodes (files), they are not creating any backups at all.
What is the best plugin or service (free or paid) to backup wordpress sites?
It would be good if they could be stored in Amazon S3 or something similar and not in my hosting account as they would take too much space.
I will appreciate any suggestions!!
Thank you very much

I use BackWpPup. Its a free plugin, and its more than enough for my needs. You can schedule backups for your sites so its automatically backed up and you can connect drop box or similar upload sites so your backups are saved automatically.

Easy to use, and definitely better than paying $40 for a backup (that's what my wordpress installer charges for each backup).

I use Mainwp or you can also use a free plugin called 'all in one wp migration' which I have found really good for migrating sites (it copies and uploads the data in such a way that it doesn't go over hosting limits) could use it as a backup as well as migrating tool.

Let me guess... Hostgator or similar?

There are lots of backup services available, personally, I wouldn't just backup my WordPress installation, I would backup my entire cPanel or webhosting account.

HG and others give you 20GB accounts yet limits you to X/inodes... which you will blow through quickly with WP and other CMS installations etc.

We have migrated many clients because of this issue...

You should really backup your entire configuration etc., not just the WP installation... if your WP goes... likely it was server issue and not just WP related.

This is why we provide true daily backups for all accounts on our shared and VPS hosting, soon Dedicated hosting will join our offers with daily backups, included... BTW, with zero configuration required by you.

I started my company because I was tired of being jerked around by other companies, huge fees, bad service, lost data... even had my last company I was hosting with prior to opening my own hosting company... terminate my account a day before the payment was due...

Costing me 10's of thousands of dollars in the process.

Why use a service that won't even back up your accounts when you are under your limit for disk space... with some bogus reason that you went over your 'inodes' or file limit... 20GB of space is 20GB of space, inodes is just a bogus way to screw over consumers with false limits on their accounts to force upgrades to VPS or Dedicated accounts...

Personally I say stop supporting them if they wont support their advertised service... like you know what a freaking inode is when you sign up for an account.. yet they limit your ability to perform backups on their advertised service?

    I say SCREW THEM!

They have no problem screwing you out of your hard earned money for a sub par service...

Find a better service, one that doesn't restrict you based on false limitations...

I backup my blog every week with Backup Creator. I think it's only like $7.
