Ideal Sales Funnel for Physical Products? USA Specific

Hi guys!

I am selling refurbished phones in the USA, and am considering the best way to drive sales.

We have had great success in Australia and New Zealand under a different brand name. We used a lot of sales platforms like eBay and different means of getting the word out. However we are taking a different approach with the USA and hoping to position ourselves in the market slightly differently to what we have previously done.

We aren't having any issue driving traffic through the likes of Facebook ads, however driving the conversions is the sticking point.

Does anyone here have good experience with lead generation and rapport building for physical products?

I am also interested in finding some affiliate marketers and paying a commission per sale. How would I do this and what level of commission would they expect?

Hope to hear from you guys soon

You may want to look into selling on Amazon via FBA. They already have huge amounts of buyer traffic so getting traffic is not an issue. The reason your facebook traffic is not leading to conversions is that people do not go to facebook to buy something, they go to Amazon.

Sure, that makes sense. However, I don't want to be dependent on another large market place. Ideally I want all my sales to take place through my site. Also, we are drop shipping from outside of the USA, so I am unsure if FBA is right for us?

hard to scale just selling refurbished phones. i think you had the right idea with ebay and classified sites like craigslist

do you refurbish the phones yourself or are you wholesaling? to scale, i would add more stuff to your inventory like screens and covers so you can have repeat sales from the same customers. if you are refurbishing yourself, you can create a diy product to add to your product aresenal. there is also a demand for phone unlocking. point is, i would focus more on increasing products/services so you can market to your existing customers.

as far as getting affiliates, good luck with that. there are wholesalers who will drop ship and buying broken phones to refurbish are CHEAP so anyone looking to make money in this business would probably rather go that route. if you do create a diy, you can possibly create an affilate program for THAT product or any other info product that relates to your business.

i'm not too familiar with this niche or physical products(aside from arbitrage) but hopefully this helps in some way....

Since conversion is your main problem, maybe the best approach would be to test different landing pages?

You should break your landing page into different elements and make variations for each element.

Pick the variations that produce the best results until you've optimized all elements.

The other approach would be to use content to FILTER your traffic.

Does Amazon even allow refurbished cell phones for FBA?
