Internet Marketers..Remember 9/11

by ktlasm 33 replies
Greetings,

With gratitude and admiration I have for my country, USA. I want to remind all of you how important of a day it is. Many of us are so concerned about our business(which is fine), but want to remind all of you that many people are hurting today. Let's not forgot the men, women, and children who paid the ultimate price to such vicious tyranny and evil. I send a heartfelt, sincere comfort message to all of you who were affected personally by the attacks on 9/11.

Love, Peace, & Tranquility

PS. Warrior Forum please express your thoughts...

Unpleasent things happen all around the world. The war ended in my country 13 years ago and still people are suffering the concenquences. I can only say that I hope things like that won't happen anymore. Sadly they will...

        Hi,

I know television isn't the best thing, but at times it does help to educate when you get past all of the marketing and dross.

Having always been lucky enough to be able to live in the UK I make a point of studying documentary programs and DVDs about many of the countries that don't have it as easy as we do here and try and learn about the history of my country and the things that we have done in the past and of course the things that we are doing currently.

I learn a lot from seeing these programs - particularly the ones about India and China and the poorer areas there. It's no surprise that many of the ones who come and settle here do very well for themselves, with the work ethic that they have.

The reason I mention the TV is because I have watched quite a few 9/11 programs recently which are always quite disturbing. There was one I saw last night all about the hotel that was in between the towers. I agreed with the conclusion of the program that it made me admire New Yorkers and their spirit.

I also saw some DVDs recently about Croatia and the recent troubles - it was quite shocking to see how they are still struggling to clear all of the mines and having to educate children in schools about the danger of them.

The only real positive thing that seems to come from all of these troubles is that the people who suffered great losses, if they manage to recover, often live the rest of their lives very differently, with real clarity of purpose - not wasting time worrying about triviliaties. It's a shame we couldn't all be born with this type of clarity without having to see the worst side of human nature first of all.

          We will NEVER forget.

I'm not sure why this day isn't a National Holiday, but oh well. I guess it's better this way to show that we do carry on despite a few extremists trying to get us to screech to a halt.

NYC will never be the exact same. Everytime I see where the Towers were I'm reminded and so is every person.

May God bless all those affected and everyone throughout the world.

Yes I remember 9/11 very well in 2001.

I was in Western Washington in the Tri-Cities area in a hotel with my two young daughters.

I was working away on my laptop running my online business when I got a call to turn on the TV.

My daughters were very very young and they were just playing with toys in the hotel room, so the TV wasn't even on.

I turned on the TV and on every single channel there was a replay of the airplanes going through the twin towers.

I just froze and chills went through my body. I thought to myself this can't be real this looks like a scene in a Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.

Then fear ripped through my body, I wasn't sure what was happening to our nation. I wasn't sure if there was people attacking the local cities or what was going on.

Anyways this city that I was visiting was famous for a military base with nuclear capabilities.

That day we packed up our bags and drove home back to California unsure of what to expect when we got back to California.

I'll never forget that day as I'm sure others around the world won't either, especially those that were living in New York and lost family or friends.

Let's just have peace in our world it's better for mankind.

I went to the remembrance of the 911 act right here in NYC today. Lots of people are here and even have a choir singing. Its nice.

I believe Obama and McCain will be here to speak, if they haven't already.

I will never forget that day. I was woken up by my alarm clock right after the first plane hit. I had my alarm set on a radio station so the host had just started talking about it.

I got right up and watched as the second plane came across the screen. My first thought was what the heck is that plane doing so close to the towers, cant it see one was already hit.

When the second plane hit I knew right away what was going on.

My heart sank. It is a moment I will never forget. I am still paying for everyone lost that day.

        How does worthless poster sound?

Aside from the disrespectful nature of your post, you bring no intelligent discussion to this topic.

This isn't a thread debating the theory of who, what, when, or how 911 happened, this is the remembrance of that day and all the lives lost. If you had a shred of respect within you then you wouldn't post stupid non-sense such as that.

                Hi Vladislav,

I'm not sure who you are talking to because you didn't say.

But if you misunderstood my last post, then I don't think 9/11 is funny. We had a troll posting disrespectful comments and this forum is user moderated. There weren't enough people reporting the disrespectful posts. When John reported it with his high post count added to mine and anyone else who reported them, all those posts disappeared - so I added the 'celebration' image.

If it was me you were referring to, I hope that explains - in case it doesn't, 'No, I don't think there is anything funny about civilians (or anyone else) being murdered - wherever they are from.'

                I hope that explains.

This is one of the first flash presentations I made when my design company was called gcgraphic design, and the group singing this song was one of three major clients.

In early 2001, Shiloh Quartet had just released a new album, and it had lots of great songs on it. One in particular stood out to me. Then the attacks..

For about a week, I abandoned all other projects and went through just about every single photo I could find to put together this presentation.

I never cried so much in my life.

None of this was planned, but after posting this on the SQ website and adding a tell a friend script so fans could share it with others, over 2,000 subscribed to the Shiloh Quartet enewsletter in less than 3 weeks.

It's got biblical messages in it because of the target market, and what the song supports, just so you know.

It's formatting is off centered, and raw, but later this was made into a new video backing that the members sang to when they were in concert.

                Enjoy!

Even this far away in the UK, I remember feeling that the world was falling apart around me that day as we watched the story unfold on TV. There were plenty of tears here that day, as well as relief on hearing from distant friends online later on. Even the sun seemed too sickened to come out that afternoon - I can remember saying to my sister when we walked up to get the kids from school 'Summer's gone now'. Sure enough, we didn't really see the sun again that year.

Unlike the poor people caught up in the carnage that day, we've seen the sun in subsequent years, and the world goes on much as before. Which is what makes me most sad of all really. Across the globe, we're all still killing each other daily through greed, ignorance and a million other of the ills that beset mankind. If only everyone were willing to see what they've already got rather than try to possess what other people have, if only everyone could see that we're all largely the same under the skin wherever we come from... the sun might shine a bit more on all of us in one way or another. Sadly, that's not generally human nature.

Yes, I think about those that died that day, and others that have died around the world in similar circumstances, for similar reasons. With compassion, respect, and the fervent hope that they've gone on to a place where they'll always walk in the sun.

All of you who value and hold close to your heart what thousands of people experienced that day...Thank you! I only wanted to start this thread after seeing a couple children interviewed on TV today, and they had no idea how "daddy" or "mommy" were taken from them. Of course they're older and have seen the tradgedy which occured, but still don't really understand why...

I used to have lunch almost every day in that circular plaza at the base of the towers. At the time the planes struck, I probably would have been at that subway station near the towers. My wife was sick that day. When I turned on the television, I was horrified. Many of my colleagues died that day. I attended the funeral of a wonderful man who's last moments were spent stuck in one of the doomed elevators on the phone with his wife. We will never forget.
