Balls on the line project

One product i'm going to promote quite heavily is a one in the Weight loss niche (noooo too competitive i hear you cry).

It is a product i have used myself with sucess in the past. It does work.

However unfortunatly i got injured and lazy and ended up "sizing up " a bit again.

So was gonna put a little spin on things by using this site to promote the product using myself as an evolving testimonial.

A Blog style i suppose but charting my progress with the product.

Obviously if i am sucessfull then great me and the product look great. If i fail (which i won't) i lose all credibility in that niche and probably don't help the product.

I know that i will do whats required (as i am putting my breadbasket on the line as per title)

My question is- How to structure and introduce the site, as a place people will want to see my progress BUT at the same time push the product.

Would i be better being upfront and saying i'm using product X from the start or get progress and then say " this is my secret".

If its a progressive blog and they know the name of the product i'm using i need to make sure if they decide to buy they come through me and now through another form of reseacrh they may do.

Any advice and incidentally is this maybe a very high risk stratagy?

I would sell it as some type of 30-60 day challenge using the particular product (say it upfront). Make sure to update the progress daily using your blog. If you're not afraid of the camera definitely make videos and upload them to youtube and other video sharing sites.

Place advertisments for the product in the sidebar and underneath each post. Use an autoresponder to build a list and contact these people to see if they've bought the product yet. (you can use TrafficWave.net which is free for 30 days if you don't already have an autoresponder)

This kind of thing isn't high risk at all. I've seen people do this with a lot of different products.

You gotta have a real unique product to offer to get people to buy in my opinion. I've authored a number of weight loss and muscle building products that are top-notch, but it is hard to compete when you have limited visibility online. Takes time and patience - with creativity to match. By the way, no offense to our friend MarkH45, but I wouldn't recommend wasting your time with free autoresponders. Period. You will eventually want to keep the customers you have gained, and it will be difficult to keep them once you move to a "paid" service, which is where you really need to be creating those lists. Just my 2-cents.

What are you talking about? TrafficWave.net is a paid autoresponder with a 30 day free trial. It's run by a fellow warrior and I have been using them for about a year with outstanding results (I switched from aweber).

Next time you may want to research a little before posting... or is this a race to 30 posts type of thing?

Here are a few things to consider tacticalm...

    1. Getting exposure is easy... just create a lot of interesting content people can follow or be a part of something. (HINT: make it an event people can come back to and watch the progress)

    2. Connect with other marketers (ie. the product owner) and do weekly teleseminars, etc... Social proof is a big thing and master at getting attention.

    3. Press Release the sh#t out of the event. Send a PR every day if you have to.

    4. Tell your own story in your own unique way... admit that you might fall flat on your a#s because people in general fall into three groups - 1) There are people who don't care... 2) There are people who like to see others fall flat on their a#s... 3) The rest like to root for the underdog and are fanatical every time the underdog wins!

    5. Setup contests for example, whoever has the most interesting tweets in a week wins a copy of the course you are following... Pay for the course and let everyone see you do it. This shows you are so confident the product you are using will deliver, you are willing to spend your own money to share the experience.

You can take it much further than that... just think outside the box. This should be a good start to get your creative juices flowing...

PS. Right now I'm thinking after you do all this you should contact radio and local news stations about the event (Story) Now were cooking

PPS. If you haven't generated at least an extra $10,000 after all is said and done I'd be very surprised!
