Making Money with eBay arbitrage? I did'nt think so but

Like most people I believed that no one makes money with eBay arbitrage. Arbitrage ("flipping") is buying and reselling the same thing quickly, but at a higher price, just to make a fast buck. Anyone selling you a system to buy low and sell high on eBay must be dreaming. The only way to possibly make money is to buy elsewhere, and then sell on eBay.

That is until I came across someone who explained how he made his money buying on Ebay in one country and selling in another. An example is an unusual book art called "Fore Edge Painting" where artists used to bend the pages of a gilded book and paint a watercolour along its edge. When the book pages are released, the painting disappears until the pages are bent again.

There are still a few artists doing it in England where the books are only a couple of hundred pounds each but in the US they are worth thousands. Even tonight, I saw a book with a painting of Golfers by the Artist Martin Frost on sale on US Ebay for $1500 dollars, where as the Artist himself is selling a version on his own eBay UK pages for £390 (or best offer!). There are other F.E.P's on the UK site for sale under £100 pounds but in the US eBay the cheapest is about $500 -$600 dollars. So yes, you can make money flipping on eBay if you find the right thing.

Right, I shown mine! anybody else feel like sharing something they have seen that can be flipped on Ebay?

I run a fulltime eBay business and I buy elsewhere and private label and do it that way. I always thought ebay arbitrage was kind of a smalltime game but I can see how it could work on high priced items in small niches. I think that's the only way to make it work. I know some people try to buy normal items like electronics or whatever else and do this and it's tough, ebay really comes down to who ranks on page one because that's what sells. To do this you need high feedback, high sell through rate, selling lots of items and it's just too hard to keep up that volume with just arbitrage. I'm going to have to open my terapeak searches to outside the USA and niceh items. Thanks for the tip.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, high priced items in small niches and that of course entails some knowledge of what you are dealing in. Still no easy, get rich quick methods. My other problem is if I bought one of those books I probably would'nt want to part with it!
