One good affiliate marketing idea, before I go today...

A: Write reports.

B: Give them away for free.

C: List them for free in the WF War room.

D: Offer them for free to people who havent bought a war room membership using your WF affiliate link.

If they want the free report, they have to be a War room member.

I havent tried this ( I refer people to war room but not with aff links), but I think its a great idea for someone to get started.

You may not have their answer, but you may know of a free report in the War room that does.

In fact you dont even have to write reports, just refer people to free reports that are in there already.

I just got this idea while referring someone to the War room, without using an aff link.

    Hey John Durham,

thank you so much for your content!

    It's a great strategy!

I can build a list and monetize it.

First, create a report and give away for free.

Than list it in WF War Room (paid section).

    Thank you again!

I was referring more to referring people in your daily conversations on the WF...when the subject is relevant and when their answer is truly there, but you could go about it a number of ways I suppose.

Not necessarily a business model, but a way for a newby to get that initial feeling of making a few affiliate sales here and there... a start.

There isnt any reason why ANY person couldnt do this, and help people find info they need, while making a few dollars. When I referred someone to the War room earlier, I had failed to look up and see if they were a member, going back to check, I found that they werent... but the idea struck me that you could do that. It's obvious but had never occurred to me before.

You would normally want to do it under the right pretenses. I didnt look to see that the post was actually in the war room before I referred I just linked them to the thread title without thinking... Then realized it was in the war room, and then realized they werent a member.

      John and Alex,

I hate to burst your bubble, but this won't work.

You need to realize that making a WR referral with the "affiliate" link does not pay anything. You could refer a million people with that link, and you'd still need $3 for a happy meal.

That link has been around since before I joined, and it never has paid anything. It never paid for new members back when there was a fee to join, and it does not pay now.

Other than that, it's a good plan...

Hiding a free report (your words, not mine) behind a paywall?

Can't see this backfiring at all.

Very simply put I had gotten a thought about using free reports as a lead in to the wf affiliate program, and, being in a hurry, I typed it out before thinking it out... my bad. Im sure I will regret the backlash for that one, however... I know my intentions... and have given enough away that im not worried about it. Will think stuff out before I type, hence.

I guess as John says it does not work. But in all conscience, even if it did I could not recommend this seeing the inflated price of a WR membership.

I just do not believe in it enough to warrant that price and I wouldn't try to get people in it based on that.

          John,

Don't worry . . . we all have those moments when we want to share and it kind of backfires on us. I've certainly had my share.

To me, though, I would prefer to read tested and proven money makers - those that through experience have actually been profitable - rather than ideas that have not been implemented yet.

          But maybe that's just me.

This and the fact that it is not moderated at all, there are no discussions there, and at the time I write this there are only 26 out of the thousands of members in that forum.

You can go to the warroom today and then visit a week from now and the same posts will be on the first page. I could not, in good conscience, recommend the warroom to anyone.

It is your bad, very much so. A process not thought out, hurriedly typed (once again, your own admission) and not fact checked is a danger.

I know my intentions... and have given enough away that im not worried about it. Will think stuff out before I type, hence.
Your intentions, as can be inferenced by the title of this thread (a good, emphasis on good, affiliate marketing idea) have not been realized in any way, shape or form. Your perceived value as a member doesn't cover that. A bad, poorly thought out idea is always going to be a bad, poorly thought out idea.

This thread does serve as a cautionary tale though. Newbies reading this: verify everything. It's the internet, no one knows who is who and what they know. Post and thank counts are an indicator of nothing.

The idea stands or falls on its own merits.

How is this not a good idea ? Even if you dont get paid to refer someone to War Room doesnt mean you cant still help someone find something that could help them.
