Does being an eBay affiliate still work?

Hi,

I was wondering if the eBay affiliate program is still profitable after all the changes they made?

I would rather be an Amazon affiliate but the have removed my state because of the tax laws.

Thanks!

Yes it is still profitable. Some niches tend to work better for ebay then Amazon. For instance, if you are trying to promote musician instruments, most musicians would rather buy used then pay full retail for a new one.. think about your visitors and your niche and decide which affiliate program would be best for you.

Yep, I have the same issue. In fact, I had an active Amazon account when the [expletive deleted] state government here made it so difficult for Amazon that they decided to kick us to the curb. I'm still trying to figure out what works on ebay...

I've really tried at eBay and have a niche site on a product that sells hundreds of thousands a week and have never made more than like $70 a month. I havn't managed to crack ebay so for me it's more profitable just to sell advertising to ecommerce sites for a couple hundred bucks per ad.

It can be profitable. It depends on the amount of traffic you get, the quality of the traffic, and the number of conversions. With that said though, there are many affiliate programs out there so it may take some trial and error to find the best one for you.

I heard about services named VigLink and SkimLinks that some
affiliates in banned states use. Don't know much about it.

Ebay can be profitable, but it's 100 times harder than
promoting Amazon products. And i'm telling you that
from experience. Not NEARLY as profitable or well
    converting as Amazon.

These days, I'd say no. EBay used to be quite profitable for affiliates, but my income dropped by 95% overnight when they went from a 7 day cookie to a 24 hour cookie.

I used to earn thousands of dollars per month from the site. Last month, I made $32.

    I've moved on.

I'm sure you can make a profit but it is no longer the cash cow it was due to changes ebay made a while back.

Yes, eBay affiliate program is still effective and works great. eBay is still one of the popular online store and a big competitor for Amazon. So, you can also try them as Amazon alternative.
