Press Release and Offline Marketing Pros... I need your help. Please!

Hey Warriors,

I am stuck... I have a Writers/Marketers block. I am writing press releases for one of my customer's websites, they are a dog kennel/dog boarding facility.

I have written some press releases for them, but I would like your input on what would be good ideas for press releases for this type of site. When there are news, it is easier to write a release for me, but when the news slow down, what would you consider "news worthy"?

Any ideas will be appreciated.

    For a start, it's pretty much the peak of the summer vacation season. That opens up a whole range of newsworthy options for people with dogs...

    > Why traveling with Fido may not be a good idea
    > How to make boarding Fido less traumatic for both dog and owner
    > How to deal with feeling guilty for leaving Fido behind
    > Different types of boarding facilities

    Just think of something a dog owner might want to know about boarding their pooch and spin it around the vacation season.

    You can do the same type of topic when it comes time for those winter vacations (Thanksgiving to Christmas, spring break, etc.).

    I'm with John on this.

    Many people think that you have to have something different to say in order to do a press release, but there are many ways to say something about what you already do.

    You could obviously look to leverage current news and tie in a press release with something - i.e talk about the excellent pet care treatments available and refer to Sarah Michelle Gellar taking her dog for acupuncture. Celebrity Dog Watcher - Digging up Celebrity Dog News - Arf! Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Weekly Acupuncture Appt.

    Why not talk about "adoption" services in your local area too?
    Every week there are more and more animals being left without caring homes.
    People need to be aware of this issue and it may be an added value for you.
