Marketing your artwork (and hopefully living from it)

Hi guys,

Earlier back I made a thread about affiliate marketing, and was ready to get started with all the advice I'd kindly got from all of you, when I was hit by sudden doubt...

To tell you the short story about myself, I am an artist, the kind that draws pictures, and sculpts, and makes puppets, pretty much all day long. I was a former stonecarver for many many years in a company, before being recently laid-off for economical reasons.

Now the big doubt hit I got, was that I would mainly be trying to affiliatemarket other people's products, when I was already making my own products at home every day, but just didn't have a plan on having an audience for them.

The fact of the matter is, whenever I do show my work to people, all I ever seem to get are positive responses from it.

So Im thinking, if I took this on and applied all the online marketing tools and methods I learned about so far, with blogs, tutorials, social networks, email lists ... and concentrated on my own art products, and providing I did well with it, wouldn't I be able to live from it entirely ?

Has anyone with roughly the same background as I ever came here and had a success story to tell ? I would gladly like to hear about it as it would put me one step closer to confidence in that it will work, and to tell you the truth, all I would be looking for in sales would be no more than 2000 bucks a month... which to some people here, is most likely just peanuts

It's very much possible as people from all over the world sell products and goods in which they are expert in manufacturing or making. If you think you are good at it, then nothing in the world can stop you from succeeding. There are various platforms you can use to start selling your artwork. All the best... Cheers!

People sell prints, and art all the time on places like DeviantArt.com or by creating a blog or a following through YouTube or other channels.

If you are an artist, by all means you can make money...you simply need to get your productin front of those most likely to want, desire, or need to have it.

Anything can be sold online, provided you have, obtain, or pay for the marketing know how to sell it.

Also, people 'think' they can actually sing, and will go as far as to get tv exposure...only to reveal; they think they can sing - but the world disagrees!

Those who do, often use that exposure to catapult their careers... Ex: Justin Beiber was an 11 year old on YouTube. Funny, I think he sucks, lol...the world will weigh your talent.
