Images from Flickr.Do we have to link back to them?

For all of you that know,cause I read some things but didn't make it clear ,are the images on flickr with the license "comercial use & mods allowed " free to use without linking back to the image page on Flickr?And if the answer is yes do you have a better place for me from which I can get images for my website cause linking back my images to flickr isn't such a great thing .

    I think you don't have to but it is good to at least mention where you get your images. If you want another source try google images > search tools > useage rights

    Andrew, there are Creative Commons licenses that work both ways. Some require attribution, some don't, so I can't give you a blanket answer.

    If you find an image you want to use, go to the owner's Flickr page and check the individual license. Still not sure? Drop them an email or other message.

    It depends on the rights of the images you are looking for.

    Not all CC rights require attribution.

    Your best bet would be to use images from the MANY other free and royalty-free image sources available online that DO NOT REQUIRE ATTRIBUTION. For starters, check out pixabay.

    There are some images for which you must link back. Those are clearly marked as attribution required images. You can use an Wordpress plugin like Photodropper which will automatically add attribution for you.
