Best paid method to advertise an article writing site

Just launched my brand new article writing site this week and I was looking for paid methods to advertise it. I've tried buy sell ads but ended up with mixed results. Any ideas?

PPC pay-per-click ads. (i.e. Google Adwords, FB ads, Bing, 7Search, etc...)

You'll need to 'test' the cost per click, and target your audience, but that would be my first choice.

The non-paid way could be better for you though, if you 'syndicate' content on high traffic sites, blogs, magazines, whereby you provide a link to your site or a well written sales page offering your services.

I think offering 'content' is a more stellar approach, as most folk depreciate the value of a good article, unless you package yourself/services as an authority.

    Good luck!

I've tried AdWords and it was way too expensive. You might be right about rebranding my services though. Is 7search worthwhile?

        Get specific!

You're trying to sell articles in different niches, I assume, so shouldn't you place your advertising in front of the exact people that are looking for your service?

So here's an example . . . if you like to write about horses and horsemanship (because you know a lot about them) you should be marketing your service to that trade - the people that want articles about the horse industry.

When you try to market too generally, you usually waste your money because too many of the "eyeballs" you're paying for have no interest or desire for what you offer.

The "specific market" approach may mean that you're advertising in a number of places - wherever your perfect customers can be reached. But by targeting your audience in a focused manner, a little marketing should get you better results than lots of general and non targeted marketing to many people that could care less about your service.

        The best to you,

        Steve

No, 7search is..really low quality. I have tested several stuff and i know this. The best approach you can have is using Facebook ads..If you know how to master Audience Insights.. then you can really target the best people interested in your business

Try PPC, and start in the article writing forums and blogs to see if they have advertising opportunities. You can also pay for Youtube advertising too. And don't forget an affiliate program and JV marketing.

Adwords may be expensive but if you know what you're doing the ROI is definitely there.

Are Fb ads really that great? I've never tried them, is there somewhere I can learn how to start? Should I advertise on groups? Also, is 7 Search so bad? When people say the click quality is bad, is it because it comes mostly from India? What kind of advertisers choose 7Search and where do they display most of their ads?

Also, I've been getting some ok results with buy sell ads, but the site I ended up advertising on was sending me bot clicks. I need to know what a reasonable cpm should be for a 125 X 125 banner and where I could find some alternatives to buy sell ads.

    Try Facebook ads.

I highly recommend starting a trial with AdEspresso - why?

To view what ads other advertisers are using to promote their service.

Do a little bit of research before diving into advertising.

Well until a few weeks ago i would suggest the same old PPC stuff, but the issue is about not being laser targeted audience and the PPC can be really high.

So i do recommend you to use what i did some time ago.
I did my own research where the audience was, let say in forum, specific websites, in your case you need to find who will need content, then write it down, this can take awhile, but managing a business is not like clicking in a button and BAM!

After you have a decent list of websites try to contact them with a simple template about your services what is the problem your potential clients, the solution you provide, etc... This for sure will bring you lot of leads and will be much cheaper then buying untargeted traffic like from google CPC.

In my case about 2 weeks ago i did the researh and paid a guy to send the messages manually out to each single shop , he sent around 20k messages in 2 weeks. And my site went from 100-150 daily visitors to 3k daily visitors and is growing sky high.

My site makes money from featured posts, private banners and also from Adsense. I can tell you that only from Adsense revenue was enough to pay that guy services.

Aditionally my list increased sky-high (from 1-2 optins per day to 40-50 optins per day)

So sometimes paid advertising is not the right answer.
