  • Here is your answer, straight from Amazon:

To build a Text Link to a specific item, use the Product Links section of Build Links to identify the product. On the "Get HTML" page, click "Customize Link" and choose "Basic Display." Change the Image option to "Text only" and click "Update HTML."

thanks, but I want to ask:
if I just click on the down arrow which is next to the get link button and copy the whole code and pasted it to my blogspot, will it work and will I gain the commission correctly?

Yes, it should work. You may want to get a real website though. You can get web hosting and a free domain for less than $5 per month.

If you copy and paste the code given as is, then the link will definitely work.

To check it, just click on your link, then check to see if it set the cookie on your computer. If you click on the link, though, all you have to do is look at the url at Amazon and see if your Associate ID is still in the url (and it will be).

Let's try this another way, and I'll try to keep it as simple as I can. If you can't follow this, then maybe you should be looking into another way to make money. Or maybe you just need to learn more before you start setting up shop.

To create a basic URL text link on Amazon that will link directly to a product page, you should make use of this format:

      Code:
      http://www.amazon.com/dp/ISBN?tag=your_Associate_ID
Replace ISBN with the product or book number, and replace the Associate ID with your own. That's as short and simple as it gets and will still work.

As an example, here is a real product on Amazon:

      Code:
      http://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Google-Unicorn-Premium-Motorola/dp/B00OHFH8AE/ref=pd_sim_107_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=518lzhu891L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0YTN70H0BDVQW0W43T27
It looks like a mess at first glance, but if you look closely you will notice that the ISBN number (in this case B00OHFH8AE) follows the /dp/ subdirectory in the url. Just type that number into the first link I gave you, then add your Associate ID tag on the end as shown in my example above. Like this:

      Code:
      http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OHFH8AE?tag=your_Associate_ID

Yes, get your answers from amazon.. They have a great community for this.

Why wouldn't you ask them in the first place, and please do not tell us you tried and they did not answer.

        Hint: don't use scissors!

Look, I don't think your first problem is Amazon.

Maybe you should practice copying and pasting some links first. Then practice changing those links into text links.

Let me give you an exercise:

Here are some links you can copy right away and paste into your blog.

        Google
        http://youtube.com

Paste those on your blog, and save the post. Then go back in and edit the post.

Give the google link text that says "Click here to ask questions"

Give the youtube link text that says "Click here to see a live video tutorial on how to do just about anything."

Your end results should look something like this:

Click here to see a live video tutorial on how to do just about anything
        Signature

"May I have ten thousand marbles, please?"

When you are logged into your amazon associates account, it is in the left column toward the bottom

There is the option for 'text link' in the affiliates back end. You don't see it?

You can also get a shortened affiliate link by visiting the product page while you are logged into your affiliate account and clicking on the 'Short Link To This Page' option located at the very top of the product page.
