Does the money drive you?

Is money the only reason your in this? Because, if so, you can make money doing PLENTY of other things. Is it the money or the freedom to do what you like on your own time? Or, is it cause you are lazy and want to get paid laying in bed working on a computer?

The reason I'm doing this is because I enjoy what I'm doing. While I haven't reached my goal of making a million dollars a month yet, I'm enjoying the journey. That's what it's really all about. Falling in love with the process. Once you fall in love with the process, does it remain a process? Or, does it change into a labor of love?

I think if it's a labor of love, then you can keep the machine going a lot longer than simply doing it "for the money". I know this isn't a "how to" post or a "I made" blah blah blah amount of money post. This is simply an honest and reflective post outlining the fact that there has to be more in this than just money.

If money is the only reason you are doing this, hang it up now because UPS is hiring. But, if you really love the process (of creating content, blogging as well as building social networks and newsletters), then this may be just the biz for you. And if you fall into this category, congrats and welcome to one of the most fun, informative and rewarding careers out there: internet marketing.

Although, you will face challenges, the fruits of your labor can be quite lucrative. You just have to be in this for the right reasons. Patience, hard work and focus are soon rewarded. So keep grinding away at that labor of love and the money will naturally follow. Trust the process (and fall in love with it).

Well, they say when you've got a good thing going - keep going

I don't do it for the money.

I do it for more money -faster.

    So then...

I can - all the rest.

  • Tbh, I *hate* work. I got into IM for the money, the freedom to do what I want when I want, and because I'm lazy and like getting paid big money for (usually) part-time work. And best of all, I don't have to answer to anyone.

I do enjoy what I do, though.

Ok, I'm different. I don't care about the money at all.

But I know my investors do, so don't let them read this. )))

All I want to do is grow grow and become the number 1 player in the world in my niche.
I want to create, expand, make new options and do that what our users like to see.

And that at the end there will be "some" money, that is ok. But not my main goal.

So you would just keep doing this, year after year, even if you never make any money at it? It kind of sounds like if you make a little money here and there, so be it, but if not, that's okay, too.

I completely understand and subscribe to the "If you find something you love to do, you'll never work a day in your life" theory, but the fact is money is a necessity to survive.

I don't care about getting 'rich,' either, but you need enough to pay the bills, eat, go out on the town now and then, and still save enough for retirement at some point.

The project I work on now, started 4 years ao, and at this moment we spend around 10K$ a month. We hope to start to make money in 2018 until then we spend money every month.

For me the money is really not the motivation, I want to try to make "history" and that is my motivation.

I do this for money, yes. But I don't think I will last this long in the industry if it is not my passion. It only means that I love doing it while I am earning money. But just like you, my motivation is the money that I earn from this job.

    Yes and no.

Online or offline, I need money, and desire freedom. Of course, money is a main ingredient in life... Unless, you live in a cave!

However, freedom drives me to desire success online. A freedom that enables the abilty to be where I want, when I want, doing what I want... with the people I want to be doing it with (sounds perverted, eh?) whenever & wherever I want.

However, what's truly perverted is 'what' money does to people. While few reach financial independence, the majority struggle to feed their hunger.

Money perverts justice, as it can reward or punish people based on the ability to afford a decent living.

I make no excuses for those who are currupted by money. Understandably, there are many who would lie, cheat, steal...even kill to get more.

However, I believe; any business online or off should benefit all parties involved. With some common sense, life could be much easier if ignorant people didn't abuse the rewards money offers.

I think that money does drive me, it doesn't drive me to the destinations many choose to take it to though.

If I could be anywhere, doing anything, whenever I wanted... I'd still be writing. I've yet to fully accept writing could provide the freedoms I seek through the use of IM... although, I believe with proper marketing it can, and will set me free.

Therefore, in search of freedom, the recipe includes money and internet marketing, without question.

The money drives me, and the lifestyle that i want to have drives me. There are other online (and offline) business ventures that would earn me $100,000/month..... but the time and trivial matters that would be needed would drive me nuts. I'm good with the simple business that i have. So both money, and lifestyle.

I've been doing this on and off for 9 years !!! Until now I've been looking for easy ways to make an additional income but found to my cost (many times) that this just doesn't happen. I'm now making a concerted effort to make it this time by taking action.

I've always thought that money was the main driving force for wanting to be a successful internet marketer, but clearly my approach has been wrong. This time I'll do my level best to help people first and foremost and just see what happens. I know I have a handful of technical skills I can offer others, rather than being a salesman which I'm not all that good at so maybe that might be the way I make the money.

It's going to be an interesting ride !!!

...when I started trading, it was for the
    money...and I lost it.

When I started doing it for the passion,
    I made it.

When I got into selling candy and chips
to the neighborhood kids, it was a my
    passion.

It was *fun* going out and advertising
my goods while bringing smiles to kids
    faces.

When I got into internet marketing and
sales to make money, I lost a desire for
    it.

Money, as means to an end, has no
    purpose.

Because no amount of money could
    satisfy me.

I measured my success based on how
much I love doing what I do.

Creating and BUILDING is what I'm
in business and trading to do.

I love solving problems, figuring out
    challenges and overcoming.

    I'm *built* that way.

I do enjoy the fruits of my labor
by way of financial rewards, but
I don't do what I do FOR financial
rewards. It's a byproduct of passion
and desire to create and build.

    There's something about building
    and creating an empire...being a
    leader...producing great products
and services and serving others that
    gets me going.

    But money in itself...just doesn't
    do it for me.

    With that said...

...I don't go into business NOT
expecting to earn money. I do. And
I plan for it. Then I put that aside
and focus on producing. I don't focus
on the dollar figure. I focus on results.
Which in turn produces the dollar
figure I was aiming for anyway.

For me, there are two reasons:

    1.) FREEDOM:

I enjoy the freedom I have through Internet Marketig a lot! If I'd like to go out under the week and drink some beers => I'll do it! Easy as that.
The second thing I have to say to the first point "FREEDOM", is traveling. I was a Software Developer and had a standard 9 to 5 job with 30 days vacation per year. Now, things have changed!

    2.) MONEY:

Of course, money is a big factor in my opinion. I'm able to earn more than in any 9 to 5 job with my education and have freedom as well.

    Regards!

You can't pay me enough money to do something for so long if I
had no love for it. So for me, NO it's not the money. Of course
the bills have to be paid and the wife has to shop, so you need
money. But beyond the basic needs being taken care of, there
is no thrill for me seeing a huge bank balance.

Beyond a certain amount you are really working for the tax man
anyway. I know some get a thrill from making the big numbers,
and after a certain stage it is just a game. I say, more power to
    them.

The choice that internet marketing gives me is incredible. (I'm
not sure about "freedom" because I work harder for myself
than I did when I worked for someone else.) But knowing
that I could live anywhere in the world with an internet access
and make a comfortable living is exhilarating.

No it's not. This is the mindset of the quiet desperation of the masses and the source of dashed dreams toward ultimate failure. What the greatest achievers have in common is they focused on opportunities and committed themselves to being rich. Unless you change this thinking more into doing whatever it takes to achieve your goal of "making a million dollars a month", you never will make it.

It's got to be a balance between

    1. Limitless possibility for earning more
    2. In a way that holds more fun than not (it's a fallacy to expect 100% enjoyment -- but you must be passionate about some aspect of your business)
    3. Leverages something you realize you are good at - a skill or ability - a strength

You have to have all 3 to have lasting success

I admit I did start for the money. I was 14 and couldn't get a traditional job, and I wanted to be able to pay for the things that I desired at the time.

Today I'm making more than I really need, but I still work 12+ hour days because money is no longer what drives me. I know my work makes a real impact on people's lives, and it's evident in the emails I receive. Plus, it's just fun.

I do obviously still want to make as much money as possible - not because I crave luxury, but because I want to be able to retire around the time I have children way far off into the future. I am certain that despite whatever I do now, that will be my greatest work of my life.

But yeah, I see what you mean. If I were starting over today I probably would've just jumped into a sales job. I am very lucky to have had things take off BEFORE I really had any financial obligations, because I don't know if I would've stuck around long enough to see it pay off.

Now, I wouldn't trade it for anything.
