how to make money on the Internet. They don't have any special talents such as graphic design or coding. They also don't have a lot of spare cash to invest. What would you recommend?

I'd tell them to go to the warrior forum, and join various (non spammy) marketing groups and masterminds on facebook

I'd also spend alot of 1 on 1 time with them mentoring and coaching them as to how to make it work for themselves.

I inherited many sisters-in-law when I got married. They and loads of other teenagers are into the beauty, hair care, cosmetics niche.

They make videos talking about these things, techniques, their "haul" from the store (doesn't have to be expensive, either).

Then some affiliate links to the products discussed in the videos is how they make the money.

Built-in audience with their peer group.

    Easy to make content.

Platforms are already there to get traffic and market on.

It's really like asking someone how to be a precision machinist.

There are so many moving parts, it's not a trade you can just pass off during a 5 minute conversation.

That being said, if you put a gun to my head, I'd recommend that the absolute novice begin writing on Fiverr, and then promote the hell out of that gig.

Easy enough, and indeed feasible. (As long as they can write halfway decent).

Making money on internet without those. Well good suggestion is to invest that money in themselfs so they can learn some skills and go to school some more. Another thing to make money online is with sales. But that branch is too much overcrowded so they need to be really sharp.
So my suggestion is either sales or invest in themselves to learn.

      Huh?

Another thing to make money online is with sales.
      What kind of sales?

      Affiliate sales?

      Product creation sales?

      eCommerce - Store Sales?

      Physical products, Amazon? eBay? Craigslist?

But that branch is too much overcrowded so they need to be really sharp.
      Huh?
So my suggestion is either sales or invest in themselves to learn.
      Learn what?

How much do they need to invest?

      What does God look like?

      Huh?
Seriously, sometimes it's more intelligent to just not answer questions!

As far as the OP's question...

Do you ask because they are interested?

      Or

They want to know what your doing online?

If your making money, teach them what you know...

If you're telling them "how much money people make online" they likely won't believe a damn thing you suggest, until you; yourself are making bank!

At least that's how most of my friends & family see this industry.

I would go with affiliate marketing, CPA offers, or Pay per lead.

Once they know about 'linking' and 'redirecting' visitors through landing pages, and make some commissions, the rest starts to take shape.

Obviously, if they are young I second the whole 'share your shopping experience' on Youtube suggestion, my 17 year old is starting to get interested in that area, and just now is signing up to affiliate programs that she buys from. Win/win.

Nothing comes from nothing. It sounds harsh, but, what it is. Sometimes, it's easier to give a simple and direct response--if you're not qualified to do it, find something else you are qualified to do--offline.

If they're persistent in making it online, they'll find a way. They will research the net for as long as it takes and find something they are capable and comfortable doing. They will find a way IF they have made up their minds to find a way. Or, they can figure that they should learn the basics of whatever it is they are interested in before they can start to make money. Whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

Either researching their questions online or the WF is a start.

There are many kinds of in the Internet, he can do many jobs. Such as he can do Affiliate marketing or, Adsense if he know how to write content. There no need to make a huge investment. If he does not know how to do this work, he need to spend some money. He can hire a freelancer, the freelancer will do all work for him at a really cheap price. Thanks a lot.

      Hello, Dee

Before getting too involved in setting up relatives, you have to make sure said relative is actually willing to do the work, otherwise the whole thing is a miserable, god-awful bust.

One of the easiest ways to make this determination is to ask the person to study something such as Facebook's own how-to's. They are written for folks who know how to turn on the computer and use the keyboard, post to their page, write comments, and that's about it.

I have used this method when folks have come to me to help them boost their FB sales pages and so far, that's been too much work for them. Three out of three duds.

Always know what you are getting into 'afore getting into it.

I used the relatives as an example. It could be a friend, co-worker, student ... There is some good advice here but I think someone unfamiliar with earning money online would just leave confused.

My first effort would be to show the person that they can earn money, even if it's only $5 or $10.

I agree with discrat - blogging is like writing a letter to a friend. However, when starting from scratch even wp can seem daunting, especially since it costs bucks to prettify a blog with eye candy and typography.

Here are a couple out-of-the-warrior-box solutions I found for you that may be more user-friendly in the $5--$10 earnings category:

How to Sell Grandma's Recipes for Extra Cash

          For Pattern Designers

There are all sorts of nooks and crannies out there that do not require a blog or a web site. Shallow end of the pool stuff. Sounds like tremendous fun, actually.

All I did was search selling [skill set, knowledge, hobby]

          Hope this helps, Dee.

Take them to a local flea market or farmer's market. Then take them someplace like eBay or etsy.

Explain that many people make money online in similar ways to how they make money offline.

Once that clicks, you can move on to exploring interests and business models, always keeping it simple.

At this time, it's more like committing to learn a board game or card game. The all-or-nothing, burn the boats, do or die stuff can come later...

I like the idea of YouTube, but not everyone wants to play and extrovert.

I would say if they're in your house, let them help you in some way.

If they're not in your house, ebay first...(as others have said), if they can handle that then there are a number of things they can graduate to.

One question is whether they have to make money now, or whether they can afford to wait to grow something that would make them money.

My wife and daughters work with me, but it's not so they can all have a private income stream...it so that we can grow something together.

I take it you're NOT talking about that kind of situation.

I'll send you the link to it - I'm not affiliated and it's not mine. It's one that I just went through and it felt extremely newbie friendly and they will have a site up in a pinch with no investment other than their own time.

I know my biggest issue when I started was just being confident enough to get a site of my own up so I do think that is a huge thing. This particular product steers newbies away from the MMO niche which I think is a good thing too.

Making that first 5-10 dollars is not the issue.

Developing a long term business strategy is ideal, but that can take some time. But from what I'm understanding in Dee's request is what to hand off to someone looking to get their feet wet

If you are 100% sure they have ZERO talent, then I would recommend going down to the local store and getting a cashier job.

Otherwise, given your other parameters you have to ignore all suggestions above which are whats known as "following the money" as IMO that requires spare cash to invest. If they are cash poor, the need to be at least partially time rich. Otherwise, see my original suggestion.

If they have the time and are willing to put in ALOT of effort to learn the techniques AND implement them, then they should pick a niche/market on a topic they know well or are at least extremely interested in.

They they should learn about and create a customer profile for someone within that niche. What do they do on a daily basis; what do they buy; what do they search for etc.

Once they've got that, go looking for monetisation methods. So many options here so more learning & potential options totally dependent on the niche chosen. Some are affiliate sales, create their own products/guides, if their content gets popular enough they can join an ad network or sell their own advertising.

Then they need to research and learn about all the platforms upon which those monetisation methods exist & set them up (as a minimum). For example, if its affiliate sales they will need a website. If they are doing YouTube tutorials with pre-roll ads they will need a YouTube account. If selling Instagram posts is an option, set this up and start building that community.

Now start driving traffic to those monetised platforms by having a presence where your customers are. Don't forget, sometimes a platform is both a monetisation method & a traffic source. YouTube videos may have pre-roll ads plus then serve as a source for the affiliate links in the description.

    Collate data. Test. Optimise....hopefully profit

I just went through the WSOs. What a mess. I can't tell the garbage from the gold. For example, if you've made $10,000 a month with your method why on earth are you selling it for $5.00? I could spend a couple hundred dollars and still not know what to do.

You know, I'm a writer at heart and that's how I make my living. I'm the author of four commercially published books, two novels and a host of articles, guidebooks and web content. I have my own websites, which unfortunately have been sadly neglected except for the dog blog in my sig.

Maybe I should just knuckle down and write a well-researched, no hype, here's-how-you-do-it ebook. I could try each method and report on it. I've never tried fivver but why not. Have a little experience with Ebay -- love the analogy of ebay as an online garage sale thanks for that.

I've got the creds to get a couple of articles in national magazines to promote it.

I would tell them to get really good at solving a problem that is universal. Then I would tell them to actually help people solve that problem for free, gather testimonials, and the package up a step-by-step formula for solving that particular problem into an information product (ebook, video course, membership site, audio course, etc,,,).

From there they can focus on marketing their product, adding in more products to the funnel, building an email list, and just focus on scaling.
