"Linking to these w/ an Affiliate Link"

I just got a course on email marketing...

It suggest to reference bolg post, downloadable reports, content sites, videos, audios, etc. that other people create that are relevant to your list and to link to these with an affiliate link.

How can you put an affiliate link on some of these like a blog or content sites?

Are there any courses that show how to put in affiliate links to those listed above?

I have seen some for youtube but not others.

If its your own site just use HTML tags to put a link create a ebook in word and add links and save it as PDF and it will show links

The key to this question is that these are from other people's blogs, content, videos, audios.

      The reports wouldn't be ming.

Is this saying to use the content but just give credit to the writer and then put in my own affiliate links. can you change affiliate links in blogs and reports?

How would I reference a blog post and use my affiliate link?

How would you be able to do that?

I'm not sure what that course was trying to teach you, but the basic answer to your question is that you can't use affiliate links to link to other people blogs or content unless that content happens to form part of a product for sale.

Some people, and I do this myself, create content such as a video, which is useful to your visitors and which can be accessed through an affiliate link (such as from clickbank). After the visitor has viewed the content they are then encouraged to view a product that is for sale.

You would need to do some searching on places like clickbank to find products that fit your audience and that specifically provide free content upfront through the affiliate links.

I've seen a handful of vendors who encouraged linking to their blog content, etc. using an affiliate link. Here's what happens behind the scenes:

        > The blog post or other landing page sets a cookie with the affiliate ID.
        > If the visitor subscribes to a mailing list, there's a hidden field in the opt-in form and scripting to put the affiliate ID into the form. The database records the ID associated with the email address.
        > If the visitor goes to a sales page, a bit of scripting reads the ID from the cookie and appends it to the buy link.
        > If the vendor sends offers by email, they use the ID recorded in the database to form links to the offer with the affiliate's ID already attached.

The system works well if the vendor is both honest and careful to use the affiliate ID whenever it's available.

Absent some kind of similar system, you can't just attach an affiliate ID and link to whatever. Well, you can, but you won't get paid.
