Contest by One of My Offline Clients - Win a Trip to LA and Meet Some Celebs :)

Hey, guys.

So one of my offline clients is a record label that is sponsoring a REALLY cool contest right now to promote the debut solo release of one of their artists, Jd Webb. As part of my job, I'm promoting the contest with social media, and to all kinds of places where music fans hang out, but it occurred to me how easily an internet marketing person could absolutely DOMINATE , so I thought I'd spread the love here, too.

The prize is a trip to LA from anywhere in the continental US, two nights in an LA hotel, and VIP treatment at Jd's CD release party. The CD release party is on the rooftop at the Oviatt in Downtown LA - the view is un-freaking-believable. There are also going to be a fair number of celebs there. For instance, Jd is the songwriter and main vocalist for Days of Our Lives, so there are going to be numerous members of the Days cast and production team in attendance. For starters.

Anyway - the contest is being handled through his street team, and it's points based. You need to get 5000 points by August 20 to win. If more than one person gets to 5000 by August 20, the person with the most points wins. There are also three runners-up prizes with point minimums of 4000, 3500, and 3000, respectively - and they get special edition iPods (a Touch for 1st runner up, a Classic for 2nd runner up, and a Nano for 3rd runner up) that are engraved with Jd's signature and pre-loaded with his debut CD The Introduction.

Lastly, ANYONE that gets to 3000 points regardless of their standing in the competition will get VIP treatment at the relase party - meaning, a reserved table spot, free drinks, and a time during the evening where Jd comes over and hangs out with you individually.

Here's the list of things you can do to get points -

The Official JD Webb Street Team :: Projects

One thing that's not added on that list yet is: 10 points for Tweeting about Jd, plus an additional 10 points for every 100 followers you have, up to 200 points.

At any rate, if you look at that list, like I said - an internet marketer could EASILY dominate this thing by posting some articles, some links, driving some traffic...it could be cake for the right person.

And, hey, even though you're not getting paid in cold hard cash, if using your affiliate marketing skills to get flown out to LA and meet some celebrities is something you're into, it could be cool.

Good luck!
