Nightclub as a client

Hello Warriors,

I work with different local companies and do advertising for them.
At the moment, I work for a travel agency.

Recently I got approached by a Nightclub for my services and I was wondering....

If there is a different approach when it comes to creating ad campaigns for nightclubs..?

I work with Facebook and Adwords and not sure if I will be able to do things I do for other companies, for a Nightclub...?

Do any of you have experience with it?
Any feedback is welcome

A nightclub as in a disco dancing club, or do you mean a place with adult-entertainment?

I think in the first option, there will be no problem.

I would think it is the same approach while targeting completely different demographics.

What do you think the issue would be? The principles would be the exact same.

Why would the principles be the exact same? If this a different industry/niche than the OP is used to, then you have to change your strategy to best reach the audience. Just because blogging and email works good for one niche, doesn't mean a different niche will see the same results. Audiences don't only have different demographics but have different behaviors, are on different platforms, and consume content very differently.

For a nightclub, I would focus more heavily on social media. Probably wouldn't touch Adwords. Honestly, I don't know if I would even hit Facebook hard either (but still have a FB strategy)

Nightclubs are all about "in the moment" and typically have a younger crowd (twenty somethings). I would probably focus on Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Vine, etc...

And instead of email marketing, maybe look into SMS marketing where people would get texts on events, deals, specials, etc...

Think about how the audience of the nightclub consumes content and where their attention is focused.

      Hopefully that will help!

I assumed he was talking about using pay per click/facebook ads to drive traffic.

I was saying the same principles will apply when using those outlets. You just need to target different demographics that you have mentioned.

      Thanks Jason, great threads!

Some of notes I took already:

      - Upload video to Facebook and promote it for views
      - Boost event posts with targeted audiences
      - Work Instagram account with day-parting (evenings)
      - Hold a contest (emails, likes, social shares)
      - Youtube ads for young travelers
      - QR codes on Instagram Pictures (barcode)
      - SMS marketing
      - "Text HUSTLER to 99000 and people will automatically be enrolled"

I think Facebook ads would be a good starting place and also launching an Instagram account where you can easily target the area they are in and reach their targeted audience quickly and at key times (early weekend evenings.)

This would target mostly the youth but i dont think it needs a different marketing strategy. The only thing that would change is the target audience but do not use mails. Use the other forms of social media and promote the joints. But i think it would be more expensive for you have to use celebrities to attract the youth.

Pitched him yesterday, it went well

Looks like they already tried Adwords (CPC), which worked well (probably stopped coz didnt have time)
Manager been doing all their advertising (basic stuff: boosting events once in a while and trying basic CPC)

    Told him about:
    - Instagram ads with QR codes
    - Adwords CPC
    - Boosting Social engagement
    - Boosting events with right demographics
    - Dark posts with events
    - Doing competitions once in a while

The way he could measure the effectiveness is taking average money made at the bar for that night in the past and comparing to this week.
He should come back with an answer this Thursday
