Can someone advise me on selling my digital product?

I've finished my first digital product (2 minutes before my 40th birthday, how's that for timing). I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction in terms of selling it.

It's 12 ebooks (approx. 20,000 words in total), and 94 videos, with 15 more videos on youtube. It's 3.88 GB, even though all the videos are compressed. Total video time (inc. youtube videos) is 4 1/2 hours. And hundreds of illustrations. I mention this so that maybe someone can also advise me on how much it's worth.

Thanks.

If it's about IM, then sell it here as WSO to test the water. Use warriorpayment system. It's easy.
You may also consider to break down the product into a teaser WSO, main WSO, then go with OTO1, OTO2, etc with different price setting. Test. Test. Test.

It's a guitar course for beginners. If I broke it down, none of the parts would stand alone. It's like a big book, but split up into different PDFs. It follows from one to the next.

You could set it up as a membership course so that they get a new lesson each week or whatever time frame that you like.

They could pay all at once or monthly. This would also give you the ability to make more advanced lessons and keep giving them more content and keep them paying.

You could sell it on Udemy as that's what they do is sell courses.

Or you could put it on amazon. You put the links to the videos in the book at the right time so they can just click and watch without having to download.

udemy.com or skillshare.com would be worth to try.
Or you can use gumroad.com to make your own membership guitar class.

I tried uploading it to Gumroad today but my files are huge. Almost 4 GB in total. Not only would it take forever to upload them all, but I don't even want to think how long it would take for the customer to download them. I tried compressing them to zipped folders but that made no difference. Looks like I've got months ahead of me trying to figure out how to sell this thing.

    *sigh*

    So here's the thing, OP:

Nobody cares about the "thud factor" of what you've created.

The question is: What problem have you solved, and for who? What marketplace do you intent to sell it in? (that's a huge factor.)

Which answers your question of "how much is this worth?"

And yes, I would also deliver this by membership site.

All right, I read your second post in the thread about it being a beginner's guitar course.

So what's special about it? What stands out? Why should they buy your course over someone else's?

Because "I'll help you learn how to play guitar" just isn't sufficient, by itself. I can buy a $5 book off Amazon to do that, and it probably comes with a CD.

Start thinking about (this should really have been done at the beginning) what KIND of person you want as a buyer...where do they live, what do they do for work, how much time do they have to learn to play guitar, how badly do they want to learn, how long do they expect it to take. What kind of a room will they practice in?

Get your picture of this ideal customer crystal clear.

If your target market is "everybody," you're going for the lowest common denominator and that means lowest price. Congrats, your product is worth $5.

If your target market is semi-retired millionaires who always dreamed of playing their favorite 80s rock songs but never had the time--and now they do--and they have their own dedicated "music room" to practice in, because they've been secretly collecting guitars for years even though thy can't play them because "some day..." and you can get them rocking out with Aerosmith within 7 days if they'll simply practice 3 hours a day...

now your product is worth $5000.

    Getting the idea?

You could sell it on media CD/DVD via a fulfillment service such as Kunaki. Very cheap and excellent service I find. Alternatively you may want to consider using Udemy, although their commission is pretty poor. Worth a shot though.

I've been writing about just this on my blog. In my opinion you should launch one with the others sold on the back end.

I'm thinking....position your product on Google...where people are looking and searching for Guitar lessons. SEO and PPC
Then...run some Facebook Ads and target all the Guitar stores and brands.
Create a Video on YouTube and use PPC to drive traffic to your Sales/Landing Page
    Write a Press Release !!!
Create a MASSIVE Social Media Following and Blog, brand yourself as the Expert in the Industry.

That should get you off and running. :-)

It depends on the guitar niche, how good your sales page is, and how good your marketing is. There are a ton of "huge" or "bulky" digital products online.... what makes your's different? Huge and bulky doesn't necessarily reflect high value - or a demand for a high price
