Paypal setup guide

Hi all, I did a search as a newbie on this forum but couldn't find anything on this topic.

So I'm asking here, I have an ebook product I want to sell directly to customers just like others do on their websites and like you do on WSO here.

Is their a Paypal setup guide that I can buy for beginning to end on setting up selling directly an ebook on my website to a customer?

Also, how do you collect and pay the EU VAT tax for any purchases you get from EU customers on your website?

Do you use your personal Paypal account for these type of transactions or did you have to switch to a Paypal business account?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

  • I don't know about a setup guide, but setting up a website to sell an ebook can be done in several ways, I would recommend a WordPress website with WooCommerce shopping cart and using its paypal integration, go through the WooCommerce settings and let the shopping cart communicate with PP to process orders.

Look on youtube for how to videos on paypal setup, however mostly it is going to be fairly straight forward... or as straight forward as PP ever is... lol... necessary evil... Paypal that is.
  • You will need to upgrade your account to business account, to generate the PayPal button which you want to put on your website.
  • how if you sell your ebook on warriorplus or jvzoo ?
you will have chance to get more affiliate to promote your product
  • It's pretty straightforward.
Under "My Selling Tools" in your Paypal account, you can set up payment buttons to use on your site, set up tax rates for both domestic and international sales, etc.

Under "My Selling Tools" in your Paypal account, go to "Sales Tax".
There you specify the tax rate you want to charge for each of the 28 EU countries.

The upgrade to a business account is free, and it is also necessary (IMHO) to sell as a merchant.
  • I just found Sellfy. They make selling products a breeze, they have options for EU Vat, you can embed buy buttons, they host your file and it's free - you pay a small percentage of any sales.

Give them a Google, I'm really impressed so far with the service.
