Just found out about this site, and I just wanted to say, People seem very generous on here

I recently found out about internet marketing and my mind is still sort of in a shock. I never quite knew that you can make money off the internet by building websites and such. On top of that, it is truly a warm feeling to know that there are people out there in such communities like this that want other people to succeed as well! With all this new information, my mind is still in a buzz, that I can really make money through this way. This may come across as a rhetorical question, but just how much money can a person make from a blogging website? I understand the answer may be vague, but my belief system about making money online is off. Thank you in advance though guys! Cheers!

    This is a great forum.

Heaps of really good content here. Some not so good advice also... but after a while you learn to shift out the good from the bad

A lot of the big name internet business bloggers post income reports to help answer that question.

Google Pat Flynn, John Lee Dumas and Matthew Woodward. All of those people's websites are packed full of great information and all of them report their income each month.

Simply put, it mostly comes down to:

Selling a product (think tutorials and guides created by you, or digital/physical products you sell as an affiliate)

Selling a service (think recurring monthly things that help people achieve a goal, such as a paid dating site)

People clicking on website ads (pretty self-explanatory - they click, you earn)

The above is the short version of making money online.

Of course, this then opens the doors to the REAL hard work: Finding a niche or a topic to focus on, getting the traffic, building relationships with said traffic (very important), setting up and growing a mailing list, constantly promoting whatever product/service you wish to sell, and so on.

You might be overwhelmed with so much information, and may start jumping from one idea to the next without developing any of them long enough. Avoid this mistake at all cost! Most of us have done it before.

So, pick from one of many money-making ideas (the WSO section is an overwhelming place to start, but a great start nonetheless) and make sure you exhaust your chosen method before moving on to the next.

As far as actual figures, you can make either $1 per month or several millions, depending on how you approach everything.

Hope that answers your question on how to make money online.

Welcome to paradise with a little bit of hell in between.

I would say "thank you" back, but you weren't addressing me particularly. I will say however, "congratulations" for learning about internet marketing and joining this forum. Just don't quit, and don't listen to anyone who criticizes your hole in the wall, loophole, pipe-dream internet *crap*.

You might get a little sensitive about it... like i did when it was first said to me.

    Welcome to the forum.

Yes, there are people who are blogging content on their site and are earning a really nice income. Just don't forget that they have being doing it for a few years and they probably have a lot of content out there.

While it may work for a good amount of people, there is no guarantee that it will work for you too.

how much money can a person make from a blogging website?
    It varies widely.

"A blogging website" is a tough way to start.

Find a good affiliate product and set-up a simple sales funnel to promote it.

TS, if you're going to go the sales funnel route, make sure you also pay attention to the OTHER KEY INGREDIENT: Traffic.

Search for threads here on how to drive traffic.

Money can be a good side effect.

You get out of it what you put in.

It all comes down to creating value to your audience.

Don't let the dollar signs start spinning in your eyeballs.

Focus on creating a business and giving value to those who may become your customers.

    1. You can't. Virtually everyone who makes grandiose claims about making money online are a) impressionable noobs that don't know the reality of it. Or b) they're gurus/wannabes who make all said money by "teaching ways" to make money online. Those that can't, teach...and that's the way this fruity industry works. Study Tony Robbins' rise to fame and fortune and you'll see the brutal reality of it. Hopefully.

    2. Nobody wants you to succeed. They might seem like they do, but they don't. Why would they? In real business settings, you don't help your competition because it presents a threat to your own operations. It's the same thing here. Uneducated people here, which are plenty, will probably reply saying that the internet is large enough for everyone. To that I say, you don't understand power law...so go read up. Really, this place, and many others, are communities of sharks and guppies...with extremely few exceptions like myself, salesgurus, and kilgore.

    3. Blogging website? That question is on the same level as asking, "how much can you make winning the lottery?" Even though it happens sometimes, it's so rare that it's not even worth taking seriously. The reality is that virtually everyone that has a blogging "business" barely makes enough to justify keeping it...if they make anything at all. Pipe dreams and unicorns. Thems the facts.

Network marketing, affiliate marketing, and making money online in general - DO NOT even compete with a part-time job when you analyze a large sample pool of interviewees, hours worked, resources invested, and income received. They don't even compare to a part-time job. Let that sink into your head, along with the rest of the noobs who might read this.

I can go on, but I see little reason to. I'll be happy to discuss this in more detail with you, or anyone else that wants to know more about the reality of this industry. If you want to believe in the woo woo and pipe dreams, then hey, welcome to the forum.
