Hi Everyone,
My name is Anthony and I'm new to the site. I've actually looked through a lot of your great posts throughout the last couple, three years but am actually getting involved in the IM for the first time in the last couple of months. I never realized how much information and help is on here though and am definitely excited to get involved.
A little bit about myself. I graduated from college back in '06 and like most English majors, I failed miserably at finding a good job (by good job, I refer to something not mindnumbingly dull). So, instead of settling into a desk where I'd file papers for a few decades, I started my own business ghostwriting.
I've been doing that for almost three years now and have written just about anything you can imagine - sales pages, white papers, ebooks, articles, articles, and many many more articles. I've done pretty well for myself thus far - making a nice income (way more than I ever would have at a desk), but nothing spectacular.
But, you can only write stuff that makes other people rich for so long before you want a taste for yourself, so I've been playing around with a few IM opps in the last few months.
I launched a game guide (one of my specialties is World of Warcraft - I don't even play the game, haha) last year and made a little bit from it, and have a couple of affiliate review sites that bring in a couple hundred dollars a month, but nothing's reall stuck. I got married three months ago and moved across the country the month before that so things have been a bit hectic, but now I'm ready to get going again.
So, here I am - hoping to learn from the best and actually figure out how all this marketing stuff works. You'd think writing about it for 3 years would have given me some insight, but there's soooo much to learn.
I know I've got the tools though - I'm a good writer, I'm moderately tech savvy and I have a ton of time on my hands, and a thirst for knowledge so here's hoping the pieces can fall together right for me.
