Great sales page spoof

I thought this was good for a laugh. This may be an old standard here on the Warrior forum, though I didn't see it when I searched: Writing effective sales copy to increase your sales

Actually, the use of the Pay Pal button is, well, clever. Just think, he almost got me to donate a couple of bucks as a tip for making me smile.

That's not a spoof, it's a realistic critique presented as satire. I kept smiling and nodding my head all the way through it. Everyone in IM has seen hundreds of near identical pages. Makes you wonder when the saturation point will be hit and the effectiveness begins to plummet and sales pages get nicknamed spam pages.

Yeah, I realize it's a satirical critique -- that's what "spoof" means in this case. I came across it while exploring whether this style is truly more effective than other methods. Apparently, a lot of copywriters firmly believe it is.

I think this letter highlights the fact that -- though it may be most effective when selling to the masses -- sometimes it misses the mark if you're appealing to a more intelligent audience.

I loved this! Laughed at the way it was written all the way through, this is what we all do in our sales letters - you know maybe we all need to come up with better ones, because if you sit back and think about it, sales letters can be SO BORING!! Its a wonder we ever sell anything!

  • A masterpiece. That page is a hundred times better than any sales page I have ever seen.

Buymystupidebook is pretty funny, too, and that ugly poorloser site is sweet.

Thanks -- bookmarked all of them.

That was great! I've always hated those sales pages. I know the technique must work or they wouldn't be so ubiquitous but I really hate them. So I loved the spoof. Thanks for posting!

I liked that image especially where it says: Pay a lot of money, minimum of...

Also, on the testimonials, the names of those last three people - Koe Caine, Faye Kinnit, Robin Meblind are funny!

    LOL!
