hello,

Do I need to add the original MRR/PLR license of a product before selling it to my customers ? can I sell the PLR content without adding the license to it ?

I'm little confused here.. really appreciate any help?

It depends on the license you have.

For example, many MRR products only allow you to pass on RR.

In these cases your PLR package will have two licenses included. The MRR license that applies to you and the RR license you include with the packages you resell to your customers. You would not include the MRR license when selling to your customers.

For PLR, you usually have a lot more rights to rebrand, rewrite, claim authorship, etc.

In these cases the PLR rights are usually transferable and if you make enough changes that it is a new product, you could create your own licensing terms.

You might not want to offer resale rights at all on your "new" (rewritten) product or you may leave it PLR or choose some other resale license you want to pass on.

Usually, if you are granting more than "ownership" rights, you would want to include a license that describes the rights.

If you are not giving any PLR rights or allowing resales, then simply a copyright notice with a "you do not have permission to resell, redistribute, etc" clause in the document itself would be enough.

thanks... if I attach the MRR license with the product, then am I violating the license agreement since I'm passing the license to my customer ?

It depends if the license you have allows passing MRR rights. If you are not allowed to pass on MRR rights and you include the MRR license with your product then technically you are in violation of your agreement.

In reality, PLR for digital products is a relatively new format and licenses are often unclear, contradictory or clearly unenforceable.

      For example:

[No] Cannot give away for free
      [No] Cannot claim authorship

In this typical example, the licenser thinks they are saying you cannot do these things. But the way the license is worded (with a double negative) they are actually saying "Yes, you can do all of these things".

      Or

[No] Can give away for free
[Yes] Can include in a free membership site

Again in this example, the license says you both can and cannot give the product away for free.

So you need to read the licensing terms carefully and make sure you understand them.

Although there are "white label" services you can resell and you can get brandable "white label" OEM physical products, that isn't really the same as PLR.

You can look at the licences of already existing PLR products
and change the rights according to your needs!

It would be best if you only post correct answers, so that the person asking the question doesn't wind up getting sued because he/she followed your advice.

      This is blatantly FALSE.

If you don't know the correct answer, it's better if you just don't post.

Don't repeat something you think you read somewhere else, without qualifying your statement.

For instance, you can begin your statement with something like "I think...", or "I read this at..."

I may have misread your reply, but I don't think so.
