Should I create an herbal supplement that helps you get rich quick?

I'm considering creating a supplement product, which contains primarily caffeine, that loosely claims to help you get rich quick. What do you guys think? It would be a free trial offer, that rebills obviously.

The supplement would be herbal, all natural, made in America.

Wording on the claims would be pretty careful obviously.

A supplement that "loosely claims" to help you "get rich quick?"

There are so many things wrong with that idea I wouldn't have time to sit here and list them all.

I don't mean to insult you but I think that's the dumbest idea I have heard in a very long time.

    Give me a break!

This type of thing is exactly why a lot of people think Internet Marketers are nothing more than digital snake oil salesmen.

Why don't you create a legitimate course that ACTUALLY helps people to make money online instead of a worthless pill that won't do anything but strip them of their hard earned money?

Oh, and you should definitely be careful of the wording. I bet the FTC will get a kick of a pill that claims to "help" you "get rich quick."

Either that or the most genius and your brain just can't handle it.

Don't worry about the FTC, the claims will be stuff like "this amazing pill will annihilate your bank account."

There's a bunch of people selling books on these forums and lets be 100% clear about this, a book does absolutely nothing, it just sits there, at least the caffeine in the pill would do something.

Yeah you're right. My brain just can't handle it. Maybe I should take some of your miracle caffeine pills. Either that or just have a cup of coffee.

Well drinking coffee would require making it and consume your valuable time, preventing you from making money during that time. Swallowing a pill is obviously a much more effective use of your time, especially if you're trying to get rich.

Also, coffee doesn't contain Ginkgo Biloba.

Remember here: I'm not claiming the pill makes you get rich, I'm claiming it "helps".

Are you for real? So I take the pill, save 5-10 minutes on drinking my coffee, and get rich in the process?

Well, that was the idea. Obviously I'm glad I did my research since a company already got shut down trying this.

To the people saying this was the worst idea you've ever heard, well it wasn't that bad... At least I got some opinions from people about this before I actually launched the product. I mean there really was a company that actually did this.

There was an angle here that I did not disclose (obviously) but I wasn't serious about actually selling a pill that "makes you get rich quick" granted it was something along those lines.

You guys really don't like my ideas, winning a bunch of bills is a bad idea, winning a pay day loan is a bad idea, mailing my old list of 100 million emails from 1996 is a bad idea, now pills that make you get rich quick is the "worst idea you've ever heard." Man, you guys are brutal...

Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I think I get it when you say "it helps". Kinda like getting your hands on a bag of CPH4 (Lucy).

A pill that has coffee and Ginkgo Biloba. Will it have Ginseng, too?

I think you are on to something there, buddy.

I second it being the dumbest idea EVER! A nothing product, no doubt made by the cheapest nothing pill manufacturer that you can find, that is meant to be ingested by the very person that was ripped off buying it. What could possibly go wrong?

Do you want to create a lasting business or just try to rip people off? I know lots of people in the latter group and they all end up broke and pissed off at the world.

Your book analogy is the second dumbest thing I've ever heard.

You don't have any real-world sales experience do you?

The best business advice I ever received was from an old timer that had been in the printing business for 40 years (this was pre-internet - think old school get-rich-quick mail order and chain letters). He refused to print the get-rich-quick by learning how to print and sell this get-rich-quick book I brought him no matter how much I paid him. It was against his principles and he told me to find something else to do. I did and never tried to rip anyone else off like that again.

I can't believe I just wasted this much time on this reply.....

Dumbest idea ever? What about pet rock and 5-hour energy? Seriously the guy who created 5hour energy is a billionaire if I remember correctly. It's a caffeine pill's worth of caffeine with some flavoring, along with b-vitamins (these are part of your body's energy transport system, lets be 100% clear about this, they do nothing) and you get it in a nice little bottle for 5$.

Also you're making assumptions about the quality of a product that doesn't exist, trust me, it would be the highest quality ingredients an American company ever produced.

I already have a lasting business, but I still don't have one those Lamborghini's I saw on the cover of that ebook I paid $29 for! I realize I make a lot more money then most people because I own a massive pile of websites doing 100% legitimate marketing (excluding my pay day loans site, that one is a little less legit, but just a little.) But seriously, I think I deserve more, and I know I can do better.

And yes, I have real world sales experience. I'm completely confident I could sell this product to most people face to face. Everybody would want to try this product.

Look man, if your employer changed your pay schedule and you didn't budget correctly and the rent is due, who are you going to call? I would just go to the bank personally but that's not an option for everyone.

I personally know someone who works at one of these places, trust me, they help a lot of people work through tricky situations. There's a lot of other people who should go to rehab or learn about managing their credit as well. But are you suggesting that people who need help shouldn't get it because some people can't use the system responsibly?

I personally see ads for these services in the news paper, so are you going to "rest your case" on them too?

While coffee is the #1 most sold commodity in the world, I am not feeling any richer, and since I quit drinking rum... I think I may have actually gotten poorer, buying coffee, lol.

Not sure I'd dive into that pool, as self-made Billionaire; Ed Mercer even bailed from Organo Gold's MLM distributorship of mushroom coffee after he initially proclaimed he was going to create 'X' number of Millionaires through his downline.

So, while I do think coffee itself is a huge market... getting rich drinking it, not my cup of tea...or coffee rather. I'll stick with me ole' Folger's Breakfast Blend, 2 sugars, and some International Delight French Vanilla creamer...

Although, on the eve of Thankgiving some Bacardi and eggnog does sound enrichening!

You know, I drink a lot of beer, honestly every time I quit I feel like I make less money. I've told my doctor that I think I'm an alcoholic and he doesn't seem to agree. "If I sat there looking at code and spreadsheets for 12 hours straight I'd need a drink after that too." He's right, without it, there's nothing to look forward to after a hard days work.

The site in your signature has a single followed backlink from a profile that's orphaned. If you're wondering why you're not ranking in google, that's why. If you're going to use your signature on these forums for traffic, I would suggest it be a landing page with an optin box, make sure there's a compelling reason to get on the list, such as a report or guide.

Chris, we all help each other here and I ROAR (irawr) is merely having some fun, which we all need from time to time. I spent the entire day making a catalog of marketing email pitches. Threads like this give me a mental break from a focus that only a 10 on the Richter Scale could break.

Congrats to the OP for yanking so many chains this morning

I love tongue-in-cheek humor, and sometimes even "get it" before my 2nd cup of coffee in the morning.

I prefer Ma Huang and Siberian Ginseng myself. Those 2 herbs are responsible for at least 5 billion dollars of my 10 billion dollar fortune

Normally, I'd giggle like a little girl and move on, BUT...

His name is Gary Shawkey. He sits in a CA prison convicted of murder.

He was once the hottest Internet Marketing Guru on the planet, he held huge "walk on fire" seminars, wrote books and had IM courses for striking it rich...

and how did GS get rich?

He started a MLM company, selling caffeine enriched supplements with a promise you too could GET RICH by using and selling the supplements.

His target market: Christians, members of church groups. He is believed to have made over a million dollars in the first 18 months of hs business before he moved on to become THE IM guru.

His number one student is Brian Garvin (do you own research) of "Big Dogs" fame.

So, as ludicrous as it sounds, there are many Gary Shawkey types out there.

    gjabiz

PS. The super diet/energy pills Shawkey sold contained Ephedra, a substance once banned by the FDA, until it was sold to Utah by Orin Hatch. This super "caffeine" resulted in several deaths.

Wording on the claims would be pretty careful obviously.

I get a lot of mileage with my British guests and other tea drinkers by having PG Tips
on hand. It is good. Is that what you're having while you contemplate OP?

        I won't buy it!

I would rather go and get a coffee, then do some sketches or work on my Laptop.

But popping a pill, where is the fun it that?

But l agree stupid sells, but it has to be genuinely stupid?

I take a 200 caf. pill before training. It does not turn my teeth brown. Costs 10 cents

I actually prefer Tetley Teabags which are sold very cheaply in a store chain here called HEB. It's called a British import blend and no dearer than liptons. I make single cups of tea in a Krueg using 2 bags, one on top of the other, they are flat and round. Makes a nice, strong cup of tea very quickly..

PG Tips pyramid bags are nearly 10 bucks for 40 here in the international sections of some stores while you can get 160 bags of Tetley for about 6 bucks.

I get 40 PG Tips for about $4 in the regular tea sections at Target, Wal-Mart, City Market, and Safeway. I've seen the Tetley around and will give it a try.

My personal favorites are Twinings' Oolong and Safeway's Organics Jasmine Green tea.

I have extensive experience in this area (once owned a supplement store).

The big thing was the crackdown on 1, 3 dymethelalamine. FDA came in hard and heavy on that one.

In this market you cannot re-bill.

There is a lot of competition. I have a friend who owns a supplement business.

To make money in this market you need to produce a line of products and create name brand loyalty.

It is hard work and requires a good deal of start up capital. You will not get rich quick.

You are a talented guy, but you will take a beating with your plan.

I'm in the process of creating a pill that will pay off your mortgage.

I think people would buy it.

My directions would be, "Take this pill every day, and make your regular mortgage payments. Every month, you will see your mortgage balance mysteriously go down. Your mortgage will eventually be paid off".

It reminds me of the advice my Dad used to give me, when I got a scrape...
"It will stop hurting, when the pain goes away."

I'm not joking, it made me stop crying. I was 35 at the time.

There's your user base. I mean, clients. Er, patients.

I tell my daughter that all the time. Circle the pain, it only hurts until it goes away. She's a G
