sharing other blogs post to your own blog, is it ok?

Like how you can share someone elses blog post to your social media accounts, is it possible to share it to your own blog? I believe it might be a form of guest posting but instead of them posting, you're posting it on your own. Hope that makes sense.

whats the proper way to go about it?

    No, reposting somebody else's content on your own blog is copyright infringement in most cases and thus, illegal.

    Yes, you can. You contact them and tell them what you want to do and ask for their permission. If they say, Yes., you go ahead. If they say, Yes, if you pay me $x, you pay them and go ahead. If they say, No, you find another blogger's lovely post.

    If you want to share a link to the content with your audience, this is fine. However, you cannot repost the content without the owner's permission.

    A great way of sharing other influencer's content is to create a post related to what their posts explains. If, for example, the post you are linking to is a strategy post, you could implement the strategy and report your results along with a link to the original blog post.

    You can only do that if you have their permission to do so ofcourse with a link back to the original content on their site.

    It's perfectly fine to do. As long as you give credit back to the original writer before you post to your blog. Remember you just won't rank in the search engines. This is a viral form of advertising.

      This. What blogger would be mad at you for quoting part of their article/blog post and linking to their site. It's free traffic for them.

        Many bloggers would be mad at someone stealing their content and many don't want links from crappy sites. If you want to use someone's content on your blog, you should get their permission first. Now if you just want to post a link without content that doesn't require permission. Unfortunately, many people misuse this as well as referral spam.

          For small business sites it's probably best to ask permission.

          I'm not talking about posting their article in it's entirety. Posting a quote or embedding a tweet is not a big deal.

            Well, the OP is talking about copying entire blog posts to his blog. Even copying portions of a post needs to be done correctly and under the right circumstances for it to be legal. But the question was about re-posting other people's blog posts on his blog. That is not legal without permission.

    Actually it is fully prohibited to do the Plagiarism in each & every site. You should not use anyone's writings to your site. The blog site does not want this kinds of work from anyone. Everyone wants to get the original & valuable content only.

    You can get sued or shut down for taking content without consent. What you can do is talk about a great idea you saw at (other site) and link to the other site. Do not use any of the sentences posted on the other site, though.

      Though plagiarism is not okay, using someone else's content on your site is not always a bad idea. And, no, not everybody want original and valuable content.

      And nobody, and I mean nobody, knows what the Blog wants.

      The OP is not talking about citations but about copying the entire post.

      No, it's not. It's totally okay if you get permission. It's totally okay to quote a small part and link back.

    In the Netherlands it is oke if you use someone else his content. But it can't be a too big text and you have to quote it and say who the writer is. Where it is from is not important. But well, that is if you want to do it legally..

        Yes i was referring to posting the entire article/blog post and giving credit to the original blog and author. I just wasn't sure how to go about it. This was very helpful.

    If you post someone's blog post in (as it is) your blog even with their permission, Google will take this as copied or spam content and may penalize your site sooner or later.

    The best way to do is linking other contents (as reference) naturally on your post, if it really produce values to your readers.

    The best way to curate is to cite the article and then give a summary in your words and quote with proper citation to the article with proper credits. It is always better to check with the author of the original article before doing that.

    Quoting parts and writing about the other blog post with a link is okay. Reproducing the entire post with a link without permission from the author is not okay.

    Once something is published, the author owns the copyright and you cannot reproduce it without permission.

    You can check if the blog has an RSS feed for syndication. Some bloggers share their full articles with RSS.

    I would think this is a bad idea.
    The idea of a guest post is they write an article for your blog (not theirs and yours)

    Actually this is consider as stealing content or duplicate content. So, make sure you write your own content which is more credible for you.
