How much content at launch?

If I am starting a niche blog, how much content should I have at launch. Is it better to start with a large number of articles or better to hold out and space out postings so that I have fresh content every day?

    Hey Pookah,

What i done was to start posting
    once or twice a week,

I personally prefer is that way and soon
as your audience start to grown then you
can decide what is better for you...

try not to throw them all at once if you
have a date showing, but if you think
putting a lot at launch can attract more
    then go for it.

the best way i learnt from my mentor
was to write about your self and journey.

then start posting your experience and why
    you are in this niche..

What are you or want to achieve...
this way people can relate to you..

then start blog posting and depending
on your time decide what suits you
best to post. once twice or every day...

    Hope that helps...

It depends on where you are starting from. If you have a list of 500 people in the niche, or a popular facebook group, then I would make as much content as possible before you start linking to it.

If you are building up from scratch in a new niche, throw up a few articles and then keep updating as time goes by.

I would start off with 10, and then expand daily... the fresh content every day that you mentioned. But the *key* is consistent traffic. So your new content won't mean much if you don't have a ton of people visiting your blog and making you money from your content.

It depends what you mean by launch. If you just mean publishing your site publicly on the internet, you can start with one post and then keep adding to it. There's no need to wait for a certain numbers of articles/posts to start a new website. Let it grow naturally.

If, however, you are talking about a launch event that you are advertising, then you want your site to be built out fully before launch. You don't want people showing up to an advertised launch to see a one post blog. That will make a bad impression.

You need to focus on quality and not quantity. So a couple of posts will be ok but that depends on the niche. Also get the people on your mailing list or social media( I would prefer mailing though).

It all depends on what you are promoting. If you are promoting a SERVICE,
then you can't give away too much information. But if you are promoting an
information product then you can give away "teasers" where they would have
to buy your product to satisfy their thirst for more.

This is all in your mind, the worry and concern.

    Only you care.

    The world doesn't care.

I started with three articles, and added one a day for awhile.

Then the flywheel started turning, and I had to put in less effort to get the same or better results.

This is my post pattern for 2014.

Most people start blogs with a flourish, but then drop the project after a few weeks because the "fun" becomes "drudgery." I have been a member of a traffic exchange group for almost two years now, since starting my blog, and I'm the ONLY person to have stuck with it that long. There's been ONE other guy who started after me and has kept it up since...I think he posts once a week.

I now post a couple times a month, ie. when I feel like it.

A few great articles that people actually read are far more powerful than a bunch of ho-hum articles that don't induce people to return.

I think every day you simply log 1.2 even only 3 articles on the topic of your Web page . Repeat this job every day .

It's better to start. If you have an article, stop asking silly questions and launch!

It is not mandatory to have a huge number of Article at the first time. You will be able to increase the number of content gradually. Actually there is no minimum number of article at the time of beginning. But if you would like to ADSENSE, you must have enough content. Without enough content the authority of the Adsense, will refuse your application. Thanks a lot.

Really depends on what your goals are -

If you are building a site that you intend to rank through search then it is better to drip feed your posts. Even if you are hitting 3 posts a week that's a good start. Don't sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity. When you have padded-out the site with maybe 20 or so posts then you can pull the trigger on an official launch.

In the meantime you can building up a solid Facebook Fan page - you can curate content relevant to your niche and post as many articles as you want per day - quality again though over quantity is always important. This allows you to position yourself as voice and start building authority within your niche even before you site if officially launched.

    Hope this is helpful.

I would put together 20-30 keyword targeted posts and have them drip fed into the blog then work on linking up other sources of traffic via social media and or paid ads.

Obviously, content is something you should always be creating but in my opinion and probably many others. In the past I generally stuck to a general rule of thumb of 10,000 words which consists of general information. I don't try to target any keywords specifically but I do point a social link or an about.me profile link so that Google knows my site exists and generally what it's about. Make sure to get you we masters tools for the search engines and analytics for quick indexing. As far as content goes that is what I do but promoting the site is a completely different story and is necessary if you want people to see the content you created for the launch. None of this is a matter of fact, this is important to know. It is just what I do and it has worked before.

This is my first post btw, hopefully this is helpful.

Focus on which keyword targets you want to hit first.

Publish content that focus on those and PROMOTE hard.

    How?

Make sure you promote each post on social media.

Reach out to other niche blogs with your materials.

The most important thing to identify is what type of content you need to produce, based on your target audience. For example, if your niche blog is about interior decorating, you are going to want maximal visual content, and not only blocks of texts.

Quality is more than quantity here. Most of the successful bloggers are active 1-2 times a week. The more you publish, the sooner you will get results- but don't let this come at the expense of the quality of your writing. You have to spend at least as much time promoting your blog posts as you do writing them! So with this in mind, set realistic goals for yourself.

Use a feed like Buffer so manage your social media and drip in your content at pre-set dates, so you can just focus on the creative part and let Buffer do the distribution.

    Best of luck!
