Amazon Astore Domain Names (Tracking IDs): land grab?

I've recently began using my Amazon affiliate account once again and I've noticed that with astores you can essentially lock up keywords (up to 100 per account I believe) in the form of tracking IDs.

So for example, if your niche is "green baby bottles" then you can reserve...

astore.amazon.com/green-baby-bottles-20

as your tracking id for your astore that sells green baby bottles. To me this seems like a pretty decent opportunity to claim your niche keywords before someone else does and take advantage of the Amazon link juice with your keywords.

What do you guys who use astores think? Do Amazon astores rank well for keyword searches when the keywords are in the Tracking ID / URL?

I'm not a pro at Astores, but last I heard a few years ago, they rank pretty bad. In fact, I've never seen one on any Google results. Ever.

I have seen some astores but for very low competition keywors. However one of the main thing you can do is add you own description of the product while setting up the aStore.

What I feel is Amazon astore is just fetching content from Amazon server and displaying it on a different sub-bomain. So adding a little unique description can add some value and a probabale candidate for ranking high. Plus you can add backling with article marketing etc. for some offline optimization. It's a definitely a doable plan.
