Anyone been using videos for opt in page?

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if any warriors have been using videos to help increase sign ups for the opt in page?

If so, do you have any tips? I preparing a video for an opt in page and I'm just wondering what kind of length to keep it at.

A few people have suggested about 30 seconds but no longer than 1 minute.

Anybody been doing any testing and would like to share their tips.

Videos on opt-in pages are almost "normal" in the IM market, but I think it's something you need to test in most other situations. anytime I've tried them on the opt-in page (in non-IM markets) it's caused the opt-in rate to go down.

In general, the less there is on an opt-in page, the better in converts.

Hi. I am thinking about using this too. I managed to get a Busbi camera from serif for about £30 that records both video and audio onto a card which I can load directly to my computer which gets rid of a lot of the fuss of transfers etc. The quality is acceptable (especially on a small picture area). I think anything that gives you an edge is worth trying but you will need to make sure you look OK and present well. I was an actor for a long time so I work best if I write a script so I suggest you write one for yourself then practice until you get it OK. Good luck. Lets hope it works for both of us.

Just read the post from Alex about the rate going down on opt in pages which I missed while writing my post. Why do you think it went down? Is it a time factor thing, they just want to opt in? Or maybe the content of the message. I have no reason yet to know that what I am about to say is true but I would have thought that if the message was delivered in an upbeat manner short to the point and punchy, then it should pay dividends. What do you think?
