Can I publish my kindle on amazon.com?

Hi all,

I am based in London, UK, and I have just finished writing my kindle book. It is aimed at an American audience so I wanted to publish it on amazon.com, but then they would charge me in US dollars, which means my bank with charge me for converting it to British pounds. Is there any downside of publishing my book on amazon.co.uk instead? Will I still be able to reach the amazon.com audience?

Thanks in advance!

Just log into your KDP page and publish the book.

You'll get all the different countries offered and Amazon will optionally set the price in local currencies for you.

Amazon offer direct deposit from most of their bigger foreign sites - there's an option to add all those details inside your account.

And so long as your new book is thicker than a few pages remember to add it to Create Space as well (Amazon's print-on-demand division) for those who still prefer real books. Same kind of deal - set international prices.

I can't seem to find an amazon kdp website for the UK. Is there only kdp.amazon.com site?

I've always logged in to the US version and from this page it looks like that's where it's handled.

One final question! Since you use the US version and it seems that you reside in the UK, do you accept your royalty payments by check or wire? Problem with check is that I do not have a multiple-currency account and with wire, I know I will be charged by my bank each time (how much would that take away?)

        I appreciate any feedback!

It's ages since I set it up but from memory Amazon offers direct deposit for most of the countries it operates in (it's certainly years since I had to bank a cheque from them).

You just put in all the IBAN and other details and they sort things out - the money gets paid into your account as GBP.

Hi Masters01, this is Jerry K from the UK. Accept payments in GBP by direct deposit. No fees to pay to your UK bank acct, and no wire fees. Once you get it set up, it will be super easy....you will see.

Listen.....since you are new to this, if you have any questions at all about publishing to Kindle or Createspace, give me a shout. I will be happy to answer a few questions for you.

Be encouraged, don't get down, don't give up, and keep your eye on the TARGET MARKET that you want to write for--don't get distracted by all the other niches that are out there. Go with what you know people want to buy, and stick with it.

And above all, keep it fun....business is boring and hard work without a bit of fun thrown in!

          Have a brilliant day,
          Jerry Kuzma

Publishing on Amazon is super easy.

I submitted three of my titles there lastnight (or early this morning I should say) and they were approved hours later.

I was shocked to see how easy and fast it was to be honest. (I haven't touched Kindle in a while, though intend on rolling out a boatload of high quality content soon).

Yes you can. Use a service like Lulu or Createspace.
