Ping a Social Bookmark?

Hey all,

Anyone ever Ping their Social Bookmark URLs? Is this overkill, or is there a benefit? I don't want to waste my or my clients' time unless there's a benefit. It kind of makes intuitive sense to Ping any URL you want to get picked up by the search engines faster, right? But I guess I'm looking for confirmation from anyone who is doing this currently or has done this in the past.

    You already answered your own question. Pinging helps the SEs find the page faster.
    Isn't that what you want to happen? So why wouldn't you?
