How should I Invest $200?

Update: thank you everyone for the advice I got some ideas
#main internet marketing discussion forum #$200 #invest
  • Hello Rihan,

It depends on what skills you have. If you have no skills whatsoever, $200 won't get you far. Yes, in theory you can do a lot with those $200 but in practice, you are going to get a better ROI working at McDonalds for your time.

On the other hand, you can leverage the right skills. If you know how to write copy, you can find a partner, he'll create the product and bring the traffic and you'll take care of the conversion. You don't even need to use the $200.

If you know how to bring traffic, you can become an affiliate, use $30 or so to get the site up and running and use the remainder of the money to bring traffic.

Again, in theory, you can do a lot. I've seen many replies with a shopping list for $50, $100, $200, $500. However, without the actual skills to make these things come together, you are better off buying yourself something nice.

    • Or instead, you could advise him to learn a skillset. There are plenty of courses on websites like www.udemy.com that are even free.

You can learn just about any skill and make money from it.
  • invest some in hosting - domain, and rest of it in facebook ads

  • $200 would get you the basic stuff like:

    1.Domain name
    2.Autoresponder
3.Very minimal amount of ad money which you won't know if it works or not.

It won't get you too far.

Here's a little secret about those who are earning some big money with list building and affiliate marketing:

They don't spend $100 per week on ads. They get it up to spending $500-$1000 or more EVERYDAY.
  • As the others have said:

    Hosting
    Domain name
    Autoresponder (a GOOD one)

Create a good product. Build a squeeze page. If you have the budget, InstaBuilder or Megaphone or OptimizePress. If you want, you can outsource a few things on Upwork/Fiverr.
  • $200 is not much. It can get you a domain name and a year's worth of hosting and maybe a bit of custom work on the side, like hiring a freelancer to write a few articles, or maybe paying for some CPC ads to drive traffic to test out an initial sales page.
  • Here's my gameplan with $200

    1) Get one of those cheap < $75 hosting plans

    2) Get a short 'nonsense' domain that is easy to remember

    3) Use a Free WP theme

    4) Make sure I understand which HIGH VALUE low competition niche I want to target

    5) Get an Adsense and Clickbank account

    6) Use Quicksprout to find my competitors' best social content - cross reference this with Sociocaster so I can find trending content that GETS TRAFFIC. Use topsy to find sharers of this cotnent.

    7) Curate (republish content with link to its creator) niche content and reshare with original sharers

    8) After you've made your first $200, invest in a mailing list by signing up for Aweber and getting a nice squeeze page designed on Fiverr for $5

    What's awesome about this plan?

You don't have to be a writer
You don't have to spend money on content
You don't have to waste time hunting for traffic

YOU SIMPLY RIDE the Viral Power of the Content you're curating

EXIT: Once you're making several hundred dollars per month CONSISTENTLY, SELL your site on Flippa for six figures and buy DOZENS of domains and create DOZENS of sites and SCALE UP using the same model.

It's all about niche selection and using tools like quicksprout, sociocaster, and buzzsumo to get you hot content you can CURATE.

The key is to link to the creators so it's a WIN WIN situation.

    • Why not revenue sharing, Buying adpacks with some companies that offer more than 50% revenues in 35 days (average).

  • It really depends, normally the answer would be traffic and advertising, but it doesn't seem like you have anything to sell yet...

You gotta figure out what your selling first, affiliate products, your own ecommerce or whatever...

If you already have all that figured out I'd say traffic for sure.

  • Here's the thing...

It's really hard to tell you exactly what product or service you should invest in that will help move you forward in the right direction.

Last month I blew over $200 on something that I thought I would need but won't actually be using.

And I have been in IM for about 10 years now.

    First of all...

You will need more than two hundred bucks if you want to do IM as a business.

You will actually need to 'leverage' an existing income and to keep funding as you grow and go.

But if I was just starting out, I would 'invest' into a product that I believed in and could afford ($100) and then use the other hundred in other tools like blog, autoresponder ETC.
  • Join a good affiliate program and invest (wisely) in advertising.

Of course you should first learn how to generate targeted traffic and convert it into sales.

So, hang on to your money until you know what you should spend it on.
  • Broker fiverr gigs, costs no money...

Spend the $200 on fiverr VA's to get you appointments, or do it yourself and take the money and go buy books and a kindle fire lol

  • So looks like you are trying to get another WSO out there by posting this garbage about you have money $$$ and want to invest, this is the crap that newbies fall for by buying when they can get for free on the fourm.

Now before I get slammed for posting negative crap just check 4 things:
    1. how many posts the OP has made
    2. been on the forum since 2012
    3. the fact does not answer his/her thread
    4. has listed WSOs before and has made money
Warriors please check post counts by clicking the name and the name and right mouse click you will see posts and threads , check before you are deceived

    • This forum's always been used for CROWDSOURCING info. I don't see that changing soon.

Besides, anyone looking to scrape WSO ideas still have to actually implement them and come up with cases studies. Otherwise, their WSOs will meet the fate of too many WSOs.

My gameplan, for example, is missing 3 key steps that dictate SUCCESS. The OP will only discover the missing items if he actually TAKES action using my game plan Why? He'll figure out what's missing.

That's what's awesome about WF, people share ideas but we only get to figure out WHAT WORKS... if WE DO IT!
  • Spend on good education, upgrade your skill, learn making more money OP
  • It depends on what you want to be as far as career life is concerned. personally, the amount is enough to have me develop another ecommerce website and get it rolling within a few hours. I have this passion to own more than 20 online stores and every coin that i get, I always direct and channel it towards that direction. If you are an online guy, make the amount to create the online presence and keep the ball rolling in terms of affiliate marketing among others.

    • 1. Looks like you have figured out how to make some money.

      2. You have a membership to the war room as well.

No clue how you should invest your $200. Based on your past posts, you have ample access to resources to figure this out on your own.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • I see you are a member of this forum for a long time and even have acces to the War Room. Perhaps tell us what (IM) skills you already have so people can give you better directions on how to invest your money.
  • $200, cannot do a lot of things, to be frank you need at least $1000 to start off. For example, you need to buy domain name, hosting. Do SEO. SEO requires a lot of tools like GSA SER, Scrapebox all these added up will be more than $1000.

But all those are worthwhile, you may be investing and losing money at the start but once you start to make money you will not regret! For me, I invested more than 10k+ on eBooks, tools and services etc. But now I have been pulling in 60k-70k per month from Google adsense, Clickbank affiliate, Amazon affiliate, eBay affiliate, Linkshare affiliate, CPA networks, software affiliates!
  • Use 200$ to buy facebook ads to sell tshirts (teespring, sunfrogshirts.). I think is better.

    • OP is asking for start up! this will not help really! why are you suggesting this?
  • It fully depends on what do you know clearly. If you know how to earn from website, I would suggest you to buy a domain & Hosting, then start writing, after writing some content, you can do do some SEO to increase your site visitor. Finally you will be able to earn money form this sector. Thanks a lot. Carry on, please.
  • Just $200? Call me a cynic, but if your funds are that limited, I think you would be better off driving down to your local casino and betting the whole lot on roulette (black)

    • And that's why your advice should be ignored lol.

Anyway... I started online with $50, I bought a few domains, installed wordpress, learned how to use it and since then I've gone on to do very well for myself.

The whole.. it takes money to make money concept is complete BS. Well.. atleast when people assume it takes large amounts of money. It's possible to do it all without anything to start, but the first $50 - $100 helps a lot.
      • [2] replies
    • If you already knew what you were doing and you fell into this hypothetical scenario then you could probably get going with $200.

writeaway outlined a plan that might work.

But for a newbie with no skills it's not much money.

Okay, so I got my hosting, domain, squeeze etc for for $50. I put the rest into FB ads. And it's gone before I have time to figure out what works. So I get all disillusioned and quit.

But it seems the OP has been outed anyway.

  • I'd quickly reinvest into Facebook advertising and a few fiverr gigs.
  • Maybe you could invest in triplethreat marketing ad shares ?
  • Educate yourself with a course
  • I would invest in building a niche blog.

There are 3 important things you need to build an income stream online:

    1 - Your own self-hosted Blog
2 - A high converting Funnel and Capture Pages
    3 - An Auto-Responder

Your blog will help you build up organic traffic and also will help you with authority online (for branding).

You need to Capture Leads and take them through a Funnel to get a few sales right away.

The rest of the sales will happen through Follow Up Emails - that is why you need an Auto-Responder.

You can either buy a high converting funnel (an automated system) or build your own.

These are the 3 things I invested in, to get started online.

Also, invest in your internet marketing education - that knowledge is priceless!

You can sell knowledge. We live in the information age now!
  • If I started over and only had $200, I think I would buy a domain, with cheap but quality hosting, and get a high-converting capture page to resell Hosting, or something like that. Use whats leftover on Facebook ads for the capture page.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • Hi...how about trying solo ads?
  • $200 is a little sum of money but if you can put into good use you can generate more money. But it surely is not enough to get all the SEO tools, services etc. You spend about $50 on hosting and domain name you left $150. $150 you may need to get SEO tools to boost your Google SERP rankings etc. All those are barely enough.

To start, you need to start your website (hosting and domain name costs), hosting costs $6/per month and $10/year for domain name. From there, you will need to do SEO probably as this is the best way to get targeted traffic and make money easily. Some of my websites are doing very well and generating tens of grands per month just by using SEO.

SEO is expensive to start you need all the tools like Scrapebox, etc. Once you get all the tools and done with your SEO work. You should be making money. At this time, you can invest more on email opt in form such as Aweber and Mailchimp to capture their emails so you can keep email-ing them to come back to your websites to buy more. From that, you can create Facebook pages, etc and boost on social media pages.

From there onwards, you can use Google analytics to track your sales etc, do a/b test. And many more all the things you can do of like TV advertisements all these. After years, you should earn at least $10,000 or more. I am earning $60,000-$70,000 per month now. Don't think it is easy. I spend at least $5000 on the start and done many things and countless of hours to do it.
  • Invest in a mentor!
A mentor will tell you what to do and show you how to do it.
Good luck in all you want to do.

  • I've just invested $200 in groceries. They're delivering on the 17th. A great use of this money as stuffing my face with Christmas goodies and treats will give me energy, improve my morale and allow me to focus correctly on my work.
  • Personally unless you have a plan of action then i wouldn't think about spending. Put it away for now and let it build up, formulate your plan, and start preparing a Free product to give away.

You will need to work out what you can get for Free. Produce a timeline to launch your products and start implement the Free trials, i.e Aweber, 30 day trial. Concurrently to all this, build your skill set up then prioritise and plan where and when to spend your money.
  • You Can try some good revenue share programs which can really give you good returns... do a due diligence before going into it...

  • You can try Forex but be careful it's very risky! Try to practice before real trading.
