Content for website. Ideas, how to come up with them?

Hey warriors

This might sound strange, but I believe this is the right place to ask. So in short, month ago I started creating Fitness website, its got good domain nice template and so on...

I remember, when I came up with this idea - to create fitness site, it looked that I had tons of ideas, what kind of articles should I post, where to get information. But now after the site is almost finnished, it's seems like I just can't come up with anything. And article Ideas which I had before now looks not interesting, don't know why, but I started to believe that nobody would be interested to read them. I had idea to rewrite articles from other site, but it just seems like a time wasting...

Have something like this happened to you, ever before? What did you do? And what would you recommend? thanks. It's just driving me crazy....

Make a list of big name sites you know of in the niche, do what they're doing but better.

    BuzzSumo has some good tips.

Ubersuggest is good for getting ideas based on what people are searching for.

FAQFox helps tie together keywords and questions.

Wordstream Keyword Tool is OK for suggestions.

Check eZineArticles.com from their archives. They used to have a ton of legit articles until the spammers took over.

Don't give up. Get away from the site for a few days. Don't even think about it at all. When you decide to come back think about why you wanted to build a fitness website to begin with. Do you have a USP? if not write one out.
Then you need to decide if this is right for you.

I have been where you are more times than a chicken lays eggs. As a matter of fact, I wrote about it and the solution that I found. Just click my sig, and check it out.

Look for viral content ideas by using tools like Buzzsumo or the free version of Sociocaster

These tools have keyword searches for Facebook pages and groups

Pay attention to the # of LIKES a piece of content has

Use topsy.com to find people you can share your BETTER version of viral content you find through the competitor intelligence tools mentioned above.

Hey man, here's what I do when I need motivation/ideas to write about on my niche sites.

I simply go to google and type in "my niche + latest/news/updates", and look at what's there, and if there's nothing juicy or worth my time spinning or gives me an idea, I look for forums, blogs, and especially YouTube for things that could be new or trendy.

Usually it only takes me about 20-30 minutes to get an idea to spit out a solid article.

Hope this helps, and best of luck to you!

Consider niching down. What do you mean by "fitness." Sounds very broad to me.

Do you want weekend athletes? Bodybuilders? Marathoners? Aging baby boomers? People who want to compete or just live longer in good health?

And what is your message to them? Aerobics? HIIT? What can you tell them nobody else can -- or will?

The best niche sites push an agenda, not just a bunch of bland articles.

Outsource your writing and focus on marketing would be my suggestion. You would be surprised how many successful bloggers outsource more then they personally write. It is less stressful, eliminates the need to research or be an expert, and you can scale to multiple blogs faster, which when done correctly leads to more income.

Okay first of all I'm going to make some assumptions here.

I take it if you are like me you started Fitness because you have some knowledge about it as well as some experience with it?

What I do is relate a lot of my own personal experience with Content that I create pertaining to Fitness and Weight Loss.

Such as ...what are the exercises that have benefited me,what food I have eaten that has maintained my body weight at reasonable levels, what obstacles I personally had with my weight and fitness that I overcame, how my dog tripped me and nearly broke my leg when I was out running lol etc..etc..

The List can go on and on.

Be creative and funny when writing about your personal trials and tribulations here.

If you write it in a way that people can relate to you ...well you are miles ahead of the competition as you will start to engage your audience and build up some Authority.

Which is really the first step in getting them to eventually be Buyers of the Products you can offer and help them with

        Good luck

Another suggestion that has worked for me:

Read a popular book in the niche. Then write a review on the book.

Many folks just don't have the time/motivation to read informative books from start to finish and would love to see your reviews.

Almost always, when I read someone else's ideas, I come up with thoughts on topics that I can then write about. I keep a pen and paper handy and jot down ideas for more articles as I'm reading the book.

This works well because you are looking for ideas coming from someone else . . . things you probably haven't considered yourself.

          Good luck to you.

The world doesn’t need more Information! Instead, think the other way around... what the world values is a trusted authority who will organize and aggregate all the GOOD information out there that’s actually worth reading into one place....like a site or blog. Think about it: The Huffington Post, The Drudge Report, Bloomberg, Forbes etc etc… these sites aren’t famous for the owner’s writing style or 2000 word blogposts. They’re famous for the content they present.

So one way to overcome this writer block is to take what´s out there and either improve it (skyscraper method) or aggregate all the good information and give it to your visitors. That´s how i make 10k per month from my sites... I hate writing blogposts so why not let others do the job for ya and rake in all (well almost all of it) the money...

Lots of great ideas above. You could also find a people who either already read your blog or are the kind of people you want to read your blog and ask them what their top challenge is. Then write posts to solve or answer those challenges. You can do this online in Facebook groups or forums, ask a few to hop on Skype with you, or just go to your gym and talk to people.

Well this is what most of us feel sooner or later, best idea is to go away from your system and sit back and relax in some nice place, once you feel relaxed, start thinking of "What you would like to read" related with fitness if you are surfing internet ? This question will give you tons of ideas, also you can get some good ideas from other top fitness blogs, yoga and meditation are really in-thing now a days, so you can write about them too..

Best of luck and have a great success

It sounds to me that your are stuck. Try to take a break for 2-3 days, relax, don`t think about the website.
Then, after you come back, look at all the big sites in your niche, read articles, read latest news in your niche and then reorganize the information in your personal style.
I am a fitness junkie and I can tell you that I found a lot of useful information, but not well organized.
Finally, if this tips don`t work try to hire a writer and you could focus more on the marketing side.

Find out what questions people ask in your niche. Try to find questions on Quora as well as relevant social media groups and online forums. Answer those questions with articles or any other type of content.

Also, find out what your target audience's problems and frustrations are and address those by creating some helpful content.

Here's an article from Kiss Metrics that might help: 101 Ways to Source Content Ideas

  • Get to know your target prospects better.

This really helps when it comes to creating content. Here are a few good questions to ask:

    > What else does my audience need to know?
    > What does my audience want to achieve? What will help them get there?
    > What are there biggest challenges?
    > What do I know about fitness, that they don't?
    > What phases are there to achieving there goals?

    Hope this helps
