Am I doing the right thing?

About a week ago I bought a professional looking Woocommerce jewelry theme for my site, and also bought a plugin which imports large amounts of product information into my store from commission junction affiliate programs

So now I have a jewelry affiliate store which looks very professional, and I have just set up a bing ads campaign to send traffic to it.

Is this the right kind of move, or am I wasting my time?

I mean, do you think jewelry affiliate stores would convert with bing traffic searching buying keywords?

I've never researched this particular set up.

What did your research tell you before you set up the site?

I intended to start marketing the jewelry site on pinterest because pinterest users are mostly women, and jewelry is a popular thing on pinterest too. So if women are searching buying keywords on bing for jewelry, it should convert, at least that's what I'd predict.

Let's break this down a bit.

jewelry is a popular thing on pinterest
How popular? What is the statistic of how many people there are posting pics of jewelry?
        What is their age range?
What type of jewelry are they looking for exactly?
How much money do they spend on a piece?
So if women are searching buying keywords on bing for jewelry, it should convert
So this is an assumption on your part, correct? Are you sure those were all women searching those buying keywords on Bing?
at least that's what I'd predict.[
        Either
        A. You are psychic

        or

        B. You have some solid numbers and statistics to back up your predictions.

Let me ask, how much time did you spend actually researching this and how many pages of data do you have to support your findings?

Well, Before I started up with this site, I knew for a fact that jewelry is almost the most popular topic on pinterest, and I have looked at the pinterest feeds, Jewelry gets many more repins, likes, comments thn anything else.

And this bing ads idea just came to me before, I think if I am targeting buying keywords they should convert, but remember this bing traffic is just a side test for me.

Hi, the importing large amounts of duplicate products could get you penalised by Google in search rankings unless you edit each product to make it your own.own. If you have an affiliate site you need to give it added value. In the following document I have linked below Google asks "Why should people shop at your site and not the original, what value are you giving"

See Google's affliliate document Google Guidlines

Perhaps setting up a review site of these products, and providing support for buyers might give that added value.

You mean the descriptions I have imported for the products are duplicates? I can always change around the description to make them unique.

To be honest, you will not know, until you test things out!

Just be very smart about everything. Track everything you can - so you can Split Test, and learn what works best.

I would also invest in the right education for PPC Traffic - especially Bing PPC Traffic. Look for someone who is very good at it, and try to get mentored by them, or just search for a very good Course on Bing Traffic.

You do not want to jump into it without the proper education - otherwise is just like Gambling!

I would say it can be even worst than gambling, if you get into PPC Traffic without the proper education.

You would have better odds and chances with actual gambling! lol ...Im telling you, you NEED the right education for Paid Traffic!!

What are you bringing to your site that others aren't? In other words, why should someone buy from you instead of going direct to the companies that you're an affiliate for? Importing vast amounts of data without really thinking through the types of customers you're targeting doesn't seem like a winning strategy to me.

also, what happens if someone wants to buy several pieces of jewelry from your site? will they get a shopping cart page, or will each item they click take them to your CJ affiliate's site? (in other words, will they feel like they are shopping at your site or no?)
