In a catch 22 situation

I recently bought a premium theme (Sentiet) to use on wordpress for selling Amazon products. The problem at the moment is that Amazon goes out and looks at your site when you make the affiliate application. If they can't see the site up and running they turn you down. I can't go to Amazon and start loading my site with their products as I'm not an affiliate. So what can I do.

Thanks

  • Why can't you load your site with content and product information.

You should be able to still load that without being an affiiate

Surely Amazon wouldn't take kindly to me helping my self to their products before I've even signed up with them. Anyway the links wont work If I dont have permission from them first.

I don't want to rub them up the wrong way before I even join.

Can you change the content to something else? Or use another site to get accepted?

    Easy.

You have information sections on your site:

    - Articles
    - Images
    - Videos

Either create the content yourself or spend a hundred bucks on Fiverr and let some other people do it.

I would create a site with content first. You will need content to get traffic and engage users prior to enticing them to click on the Amazon 'shop'. You can do this by either creating some pages on the standard WP 4.4 2016 theme (which looks good) and then switch to your premium theme once Amazon has accepted you, or develop the content etc within your premium theme ready for the Amazon links (a preferred option as long as the content works well with the theme prior to adding the Amazon Shop/links). Add some pictures (original or loyalty free) and ensure that if you were Amazon, you would think that the site looks suitable. Looking at the Sentiet theme, I would go for the second option.

None of this is lost time. Content, images and traffic are all part of your plan. Make sure that you choose a niche (niches) that you can drive customers to easily i.e. those where there is not already a mass of competition.

After this, make sure that you complete the Amazon registration process fully and highlight the niches you will use. Be concise.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks to everyone who replied.

I'll go with you Rick, as everything thats been said was eventually posted by you. I think the second option is the better of the two. So i'll start working on the theme and give it some glitz hoping Amazon likes it.

Thanks again for all your help. Fingers crossed I'll come back as an Amazon affiliate.

    Michael.

    Hi Rick
At last I'm an Amazon Affiliate after 5 tries I finally got it right and created a page with a few internal links and they were happy with that. Much easier than trying to impress them all the time. Started using wordpress, but finding it difficult getting things to do as I want them.

I already had "Web Site Builder" that I used to build a couple of other sites. But my problem at the moment is getting the products from Amazon on to Web Site Builder. On Wordpress I had a plugin called Woozone to do that for me, but out here, what do I use to do the same thing.
I did see on Amazon discusion boards something called "Amazon Product Advertising API Scratchpad" and wondered if that was the same thing as Woozone on Wordpress.

Anyway, hope someone will point me in the right direction.

    Thanks a lot.

    Michael.
