Question about "submit URL to Google:
I've long been wondering this. After I write a blog post, I use Submit URL to Google to get it indexed faster. Sometimes, I will later--could be the same day, or a week, month, or year later--change something in the post. I then again do Submit URL to Google. I may even continue to edit and resubmit the post over time, adding new products or whatnot. Let's say that after each submission, the resubbed post climbs in the Google rankings.
Am I losing those rankings of the previous submission when I resubmit a post? In other words, is it better to only submit the post once? (I read advice that said to resubmit posts to index the new content, but it didn't go into this question). Also, even if I do not submit URL at all, of course Google is indexing anyway, submit just speeds it up. Does Google wipe out rankings every time it crawls?
It seems if it did, then some of my posts would not have made it to decent rankings. But, I have not kept track of it as it never really occurred to me to.
Thanks for any thoughts.
