Just wondering to those who buy/sell websites if they use Flippa?.

Is there alot of activity there? I remeber a while ago a friend was selling a site when it was sitepoint marketplace & it took quite a while to sell.

Also would it be worth listing a site due to all the "extra" fee's. (sucess fee?).

I have sold a couple sites on Flippa with 3 day listings.

The first site I sold was 100% PLR content site which I ofcourse mentioned
in the ad. The buyer contacts me a day later said my site didn't have original content on it! (DUH) So not only did I lose the sale, but now I have to repay for another listing AND I have to pay the success fee even though there was no success.

By the way the buyer left me a negative feed back saying I was stealing and copying other peoples websites. go figure. Here is that site.

The other transaction was smooth as silk. Accepted the offer, transferred the files and the new owners had the site back up in under and hour. Here is that site.

I don't make anything fancy. I believe simple can still be eye catching.

    Good Luck

    • We sell lots of high end established sites and they always sell. There is plenty of traffic on the Flippa site for everyone.

I may try list a site or two and i'll let everyone know how it goes.

I was selling cookie cutter blogs on Sitepoint but lost faith when things seemed to turn shaky with the Flippa transition. I'm focusing again on my long term flips. Though I would love to hear from any of the regular/long-term sellers how Flippa compares to the old Sitepoint marketplace for them in terms of sales.

    • Honestly for us we have not noticed a difference with the sells. Now I will admit I did prefer the old Sitepoint marketplace better.

I haven't noticed any difference. My sites sold on Sitepoint and still do on Flippa, although I charge a bit higher now to cover their ridiculous "success fee" along with the higher site listing fee.

I agree the "success" fee is a little excessive
