Help. I'm At the End Of My Rope. I'll almost do anything...

One end of the rope is around my neck and my feet aren't touching the ground yet. My wife's gonna kill me if I don't see some income after 1and 1/2 years. I've tried so many things. I've spent so much money.
I just want $100/day. Is that too much to ask?
Anyone got any advice?
If $100/day were your goal what would you do?
#100$ a day #end #make $100/day #rope

depends on what my talents are I guess.....
If I needed quick money I would hire out my programming skills.
At a low cost of $25 per hour that's only a part time job...

Arlin, you're asking a question that can't be answered.

I could tell you to open up an Adwords campaign and promote affiliate
products but if you don't have at least $30 a day to spend on PPC, you
          can't effectively do it.

I could tell you to write articles and submit them to article directories,
again promoting affiliate products, but if you can't write your way out of
a paper bag, that's not going to work either.

Point is, we could sit here and rattle off a ton of things you could do,
but without knowing your financial situation, skills, hours available in your
day and a ton of other things, no way anybody can help you.

You need to get a hold of a qualified mentor and have that person
help you put together a business plan based on those skills, finances,
          hours available and so on.

Otherwise, anything we say here is just an exercise in futility.

If I was starting from scratch right now, I would look at the hot topics in the Internet Marketing world...

You want to bank $100 a day? Do link building for people 100 links for 50 bucks and do 2 packages a day. Look at all the products out there right now for SEO and backlinks. People are making 5K+ a month easy just digging up a couple backlinks a month for the masses.

Just sell what people want to buy.

            ARlin....here's a GREAT Article on How To Help Businesses Get Their Business "Registered" on GOOGLE LOCAL BUSINESS LISTINGS!;

The Internet Marketing Driver: Your Google Local Business Center Dashboard, Analyzing and Refining Your Google Maps Listing Based on Analytics

Many businesses are NOT "Registered" with "Google Local" and there is one guy charging $97 to "Register" businesses on Google Local so they don't lose their position.

These are people with and without websites.

Read the Article and the Linked Articles to "get educated"....then start making some phone calls.

Also....there is a Looong thread here about someone who explains how to do this. His name is JAY SABREE!

Do a search and read his stuff.

I think Jay charges $495 to do this.

            Check it out!

I just remembered. There's a guy who was also "at the end of his rope".

Someone told him about a "Odor Remover" that costs $3 per can and which Car Dealers WILL PAY $40 PER CAR.....to DEODORIZE!

Why? Because they CAN'T SELL A STINKY CAR!!!

              The product is unique for 2 reasons;

              1) It WORKS! It gets rid of odors (especially cigarette smoke) in the car
              2) It is Cheap and has HIGH VALUE
              3) Here's the Main Reason why Car Dealers will pay $40 for this;
You pop the top and set the can on the floor on the passenger side and close the door...fast. The car starts to fill up with a FOG that fills the entire interior in a few seconds.
THIS IMPRESSES THE CAR DEALER because it "looks like the thing is working"! It's a POWERFUL DEMO!

This guy has a route. He sees 8 car dealers a day...4 days a week. He takes off Fri, Sat, Sun each week. He gets paid for a MINIMUM of 10 cars A DAY! $400/Day less $30 cost. Some days he does 20 cars for an $800 Daily Gross.

All you do is walk into a Car Dealer and tell them you have a way of removing Cigarette Smoke and Odors from their Trades and you'd like to give them a Free Demo. Once they see the Demo, they're hooked!

It's not sitting at a pc and punching a keyboard BUT....you get out...see the world around you and...even if it's bad weather you can still do your deodorizing. May not be glamorous BUT...it will get some INSTANT CASH coming in on a Daily basis.

Send me a PM if you'd like to know where to get the product. I'll look in my archives and see if I can find it.

Ohh....he also provides another service. There is Black Plastic on cars. Door Handles, around windows, on rear view mirrors. On older cars this plastic has turned gray from UV Rays and the weather and looks "sick".

There's another product that will make that black plastic shine like new.

He gets $10 per door handle, $5 per mirror, $20 per bumper...etc. This service also brings in another $200 to $400 per Day.

Think about it. Sure beats sitting around trying to get someone to give you money for your ONline prowess.

Quickest way to make money is by selling services.

People here need content written, graphics, backlinking, customer support like answering emails, videos created....

the list of services needed is almost endless.

You don't need to get too creative to find customers. Your potential clients are right here.

You just need to decide what you are best suited to offer depending on your skills.

Why don't you put up a simple blog at wordpress.com to showcase your article writing talent and use this forum and others to find clients. I for one know a lot of people that will pay good money for quality articles (me included). :-)

I think you summed up the problem there.

If you'd stuck to one thing, almost no matter what - you'd probably be there now.

The question I have is - what makes you think that it's a reasonable expectation for you to be making $100 a day online?

    Because other people are?

The fact that you've said in the title of the thread that you'll do "almost anything" is a sign that you don't have any focus or any real expectation of where your value lays.

There are a lot of ways to make money, but they're not for everyone.

No-one can give you your answer because only YOU can decide what you will put yourself 100% behind.

Life's too short to be chasing money and doing just any old thing that can make a dollar - your life is too valuable to sell yourself short like that.

Decide what you want your life to be about. Sometimes it's ok to decide that your day job really isn't your dream job and is there to financially support you achieving your real fulfillment elsewhere - but it shouldn't be a permanent situation.

At some point you need to decide what your life is all about and what fulfills you - THEN use the things you know about the Internet to choose activities that support that.

The internet is just a mechanism - a tool - to be used 'on' something.

If you don't have the business, the plan, the activity that you want IM to support - you'll never get the answer to your question to be right.

If $100 a day was my goal and I'd been trying to hit that target for a while without success, I'd change my goal to making $10 a day.

Give yourself a smaller target that you can reach, and then give yourself some credit for reaching it. Then build very slowly.

How much are you making a day at the moment?

I'm getting maybe $30 every other month. I read "Bum marketing" ,wrote quite a few articles- to blogs -to affiliate links. Nada. I write apprx. five articles per week, and I feel that my articles are good. I have a number of them in number one position (for their keywords) in Google. I research keywords religiously before writing, and shoot for first page Google rankings. It's not too hard to accomplish, but I don't seem to get results.

I got trapped in the "Make Money Now" schemes for a while when I first started online and I wasted a lot of time. Someone said, "Don't read emails", and I almost agree.
I spent a lot of time learning HTML to set up my web pages. I'm not proficient, but I can build and tweak my own sites.
What makes me think $100/day is reasonable?...I don't know. I guess I've done enough of the right things for enough time that I surely should see a little return at least weekly...?
      Maybe not.

I do think I write good articles. Sometimes I can get "in the zone" and knock off eight or ten in an hour and a half. Then again I can get writer's block for an hour and a half.

If you had done the right things, you likely would have. I mean, help me out here...which program says you can make $100/day writing only 5 articles a week?

Which is it....here you say you knock off 8-10 articles in an hour and half, yet earlier you say you're writing only 5 articles a week?

By the way, if you're writing 8-10 articles in an hour and a half, I seriously doubt they're very good.

To post your links in any forums all you have to do is set up your signature which would be under the User CP tab. then everyone of your posts will also have links back to your blog or your website.

As for the beginning of this post. You say you're learning how to market online... have you tried teaching other people how to market?? That is going to be the key to attracting people to yourself. Once you start attracting people to you and your knowledge/training, you will start having people purchase affiliate products and join your business! START TEACHING!!

If $100 a day were my goal then...

    1. I'd calm down, that's an easy goal
    2. Identify a niche, paying particular attention to my knowledge and interest as well as it's specificness (i dont' think that's a word)..if it's too broad or saturated, narrow it down. Remember you are targeting a need...no, a DESIRE in that niche, something people desperately want to know.
    3. Setup a squeeze page for that niche, VERY specific to the exact desires in question
    4. Send targeted traffic to the squeeze page.
    5. Send relevant and informative emails to the list, develop a relationship, use article sites if you need to for information for your emails.
    6. Market affiliate products to your list after your relationship is developed...do it in a "nice" way of course and ONLY relevant and helpful products or services.

As long as you have a list, and that's the key, in any niche, you can make daily income solely from a well structured email marketing campaign.

If $100/day were your goal what would you do?

In your 18 months, have you bounced from thing to thing, and bought lots of stuff? Do you feel you are an expert at anything, or have you never really stuck with anything long enough to figure it out?

If you need cash in a hurry and haven't gotten it yet, I'd say your best bet would be to sell your time, either in linkbuilding, writing, or designing. Using elance or other things like it can probably earn you $20/hour or so, and can help show that you can make some income at this, to buy you more time with your SO.

However, part of your problem could be that you haven't stuck with anything. Most of the "systems" you've probably bought all claim to work overnight, and they do. You work hard on them for 90 days, and on the 91st day you are suddenly making money. Giving up after 30 means you'll be broke forever.

Marc, great post. Glad you still respect me.

All kidding aside, your plan, while a boat load of work, will certainly put
money in his pocket if he can sell himself as a writer...that's the key. He has
to have enough belief in himself to say to somebody, "I write damn good and
these are my prices...a lot less than other people who don't write half as
      good as I do."

If you don't believe in yourself, nobody else will.

Think every professional athlete isn't scared when going into the ring or
onto a field? Of course they are. The key is not letting the other guy know
      it.

But that psychological mumbo jumbo is for another thread and another
      time.

I don't have a problem with self esteem.

      I know I'm hot stuff.

    Hi Arlin,
believe me when I say that I feel your pain, because I have been in that exact spot more often than I care to remember. The thing is that even though it may be a bit difficult to see right now, you already have everything going for you - you already have the ingredients, it's just a matter of connecting the dots, putting it all together so that you can reach your goal. For one thing you have PERSEVERANCE, and this is a major characteristic for success. 99% of the people whom you meet, do not possess this remarkable gift, which is really a pre-requisite for success. Another of your gifts, as Marc also acknowledged, is your unique ability to write. This is a very marketable and in-demand skill. I can tell you, as one who has been in business for around 28 years, that a good writer is critical to the success of many businesses. Marc also said that $10 per article may be a bit steep - maybe for internet-savvy marketers, but for everyone else offline and outside of IM, $30 - 100+ is the norm, if not a bargain, as I have paid for years in my offline businesses, where $10 per article is unheard of. I guess what I am trying to say is to look for the bunches of businesses that also exist outside of the internet marketing realm - so stuff like writing press releases, non-IM website content, marketing materials for companies, etc.

As for the "find a mentor" suggestion, I will also agree with Marc on this one (with no disrespect to Steven, of course). In the pre-internet days, it was great if you could find that one guy who would take you under his wing and show you the ropes of his business, but there were (and still are) a lot of trade-offs that went with that. However, with the internet, you can get tons of that same information with just a few clicks, without having to indenture yourself to anyone. In fact, as a WF member, you have more mentors than you can shake a stick at, and you are not eternally obligated to anyone here who offers you their best information, of which there have been quite a few good ones already posted.

While I may not have the magic answer (others in this post may provide the right "vehicle" to get you there), I feel strongly that you will ultimately succeed in reaching your goals, because you seem to have a clear vision, you are not afraid of taking action, and again, you have the all important "stick-to-it-iveness" trait. These are the success qualities of highly successful entrepreneurs - and you already have them! As for your writer's block, I think that it is most likely due in large part to the stress of not making any money, but that will change soon. Just see this moment as a pothole on the road to your success, which you will no doubt surmount.

    See you at the top!

    Regards,
    Gerry

Just buy a domain and redirect it to an affiliate product. Clickbank is a good place to start. Then write 10 articles and submit them to ezinearticles. Then rewrite them and submit them to a bunch of other directories like goarticles, etc. If you have some money open an adwords campaign. If you actually follow through theres no reason you shouldn't be making money.

If you had a budget to begin with and you wasted it on countless E-book, you didn't do a lot of thinking didn't you? I would have at least bought a traffic heavy website off someone else and make my investment worthwhile over time.

I didnt post this anywhere else, and this is pretty obvious but good advice. You're asking how to make money online, and this is how I make money online. Thanks for being a dick about it. If you don't know how to get an ezine article approved then obviously you don't know anything about IM and you probably should quit and do something else. Smart ass.

Provide some links to some of your articles and if they're as good as you say then I'd be happy to pay $10 for full rights to an original article. 10 a day and you'd be on target. (Just a thought... it might not be the direction that you were wanting to head in, but I know that I get sick and tired of the crap quality of articles that are usually on offer. If you can provide better quality you could be on a winner.)

    Hello Arlin
I am just setting out on a course following Alex Jeffeys as my mentor. I suggest you follow his advice and the strategies I am following. I am not keeping up with all the modules and homework as the course is moving at a fast pace, however, Alex has recorded everything and I have copies to refer to at any time. If it were not for being slow with some of the homework I would have my blog up to date.
I sugest you visit my blog, see the strategy being taught and apply it yourself.

I see you have a lot of links to your name on Google. How big is your mailing list? Have you been building one? If not you will need to start on so that you will be able to market to your list in the future. This should set you up to reach your target and shoot past it eventually,

    Hi Arlin,

I've certainly been there before. When you consider that 17 year old girls are making $5,000+ a month selling makeup from YouTube videos, $100 per day is not too much to ask at all.

Some things you can do today would be to add:

    * affiliate links to the products at amazon, etc.
    * adsense to your pages, articles, etc.
    * a free ebook and newsletter opt-in.

I'd also get something ready to post about the PGA. Tiger's looking very good for #15.

    Regards,
    Matt

    Hi Arlin.

First thing is to take a deep breath and relax. desperation gets you nowhere.

I somewhat agree with Marc. Your solution is in offering an article writing service and you can add submission to the top three articles directories.

gain knowledge on how to get it started, then just do it.

    also focus on one thing.

i know you hear the term multiple streams of income, but thats usually set up in a downline builder. where you refer someone to one website and inside are multiple programs for you join. easier that way, then running around promoting a bunch of referral links.

anyway, build your service, thats income you can bank on.

    much success

Write a product about how to write 5-6 articles and hour, give it away for free, treat your list well, and sell them affiliate products

But if you've jumped from product to product, you probably know quite a bit about every aspect of IM. You might want to consider offline marketing.

If you can create websites, you can charge $300-$1000 for each website you create, and people will pay that much. You can even make them in less than a day. (At least I can)

Just talk to some local businesses, send out some targeted letters etc. Sell them a listbuilding service, and charge a monthly fee for upkeep, and if you can write, you can charge extra to write good emails for them as well.

Create a website where you showcase your skills, order professional business cards, register your business, and go out to meet business owners. I've heard networking meetings are great.

At least I would say offline is the fastest way to potential profits. You can actually make $500+ today, if you just ask a few people if they need a professionally created website.

    Good luck!

    Anyone got any advice?
If $100/day were your goal what would you do?
Can you show us your websites that you sell through? Are we talking about those:

    Your Pro Golf Swing

    Wise Parenting Tips

If that is the case I must say, that as visitor of those pages I was not really sure what they are. Are you selling anything or just blogging? They are too general. It takes few minutes to have idea with your sites what you want visitors to do. I am sure 90% of visitors do not stay at your webiste that long...

Show us your work - we will see where is the problem. Because IF there are people that earn money, and your are not, it means that you do the wrong things. Search for them and change them.

The golf site is an extremely good looking site, with some better monetization and more traffic I could see it doing well. As it is there seems to only be one ad on the front page and a product page with text descriptions. Again though, great looking site!

Internet marketing isnt always as easy as people make it sound.

I also have the problem that I jump from method to method and thus the results are kind of poor. Ive only been at it for 12 months and have made about $2500 and spent about $700 so that leaves me with $1800 net.

Not great but it's enough of an incentive for me to keep going.

Also, I have a friend of mine who is making 5 figures a month and is only 20 years old. Glen Allsopp. He has a blog Pluginid.com with over 4500 subscribers and many other minisites.

He recently released an ebook called Cloud Living, which is his version of 176 pages how he outlines step by step how he makes money. Unlike many of the how to make money online books, this is genuinely the best book you can buy, except it costs $37 so given your situation I don't want you to spend more money on it.
Well, if you earned only $2500 why don't you use techniques teached by your friend in this book?

Wagenheim, Rodill, Andyhenry...you guys kinda "shoot from the hip", but I like straight talkers. I value what you've told me. I have to assume that you've been successful and know your stuff.
I've primarily promoted affiliates and my own sites through articles. I started off with maybe 15-20 articles per site. Now i'm down to around five per week all inclusive. I guess I got a bit discouraged because I felt I'd written enough to get at least a few nibbles.

Frankly,I see articles out there with "gobbled grammar" and no sense of form and wonder why these writers claim success and I can't.
I finally decided that I must be picking the wrong niches.(but I find it hard to believe that people are exclusively interested in sex, gambling, and beer).
Surely someone out there wants to learn how to be a better person, a better parent, a better golfer, or a physically fit specimen.

Early on I got slapped several times by EzineArticles because my normal writing style is "head on and tough guy". I had to learn to do stuff like "Three Steps To Whiter Teeth...,
Two Things To Never Say To Your Postman...etc.
I'm ashamed to say I've written some articles about "Internet Marketing"...like I was speaking from experience. Hey, the stuff's out there and easy to parrot. I wonder when all the tinsel is pulled back, how many "Gurus" really make as much as they claim.

I sent emails to seven different "Gurus" asking them to prove to me that their techniques worked on topics other than "Internet Marketing". No takers.

Anyway thanks for your words...a few hurt me a little, because I've really done a lot more than I can tell about here. But I take it all to heart.

You can do small things to help you get started and your wife smiling.

You write articles so you can maybe write some articles for people. Lots of people are desperately looking for good article writers. It may not bring in much but also it would not take you that long to write 5 good articles daily.

    5x $4 = 20
    $20 x 7 = $140 weekly x 4 = $560 month for 2-3hours work perday

you can use that money to buy important things for your business like Angelas links

    join SB101

Join a bootcamp and start from scratch again

The main thing though is you have to cut all the crap! Delete all those useless ebooks and promos! Stick to one business model but follow it consistently!

Think of it like this if you had a jumper you have not worn in 6 months would you keep it? Clean out all the junk and start from scratch.

Also this is a great place to find customers as the WF gets a lot of guests that buy services even if they don't belong to this forum.

Classic example I never knew of warrior forum - I was looking to buy stock music and found a great deal from a WF member. I did not join up to WF but I purchased her music from the public link - and am very happy with her music would have cost me 10x as much to purchase elsewhere.

    Think outside the box.

    • The golf site looks very good and the parenting tips is relatively easy on the eye.

I'm not an expert and I hope that someone takes a look at your sites but a couple of things struck me.

They keywords in your sites html might benefit from a review. Your golf ones look way too broad to enable you to compete. The parenting tips keywords appear to bear little relation to parenting. Plus I couldn't see any evidence of people searching for your pro golf swing.

Similar to the keywords, the sites look a little too broad in what they are aiming at. One piece of advice I've seen on here repeatedly is go tight. Narrow down to some terms that people seem to be searching for and try to get your money coming in that way. Casey Gentles (yescapow) has a good thread on keyword planning

I also have one more question. The ebook that is on your pages - is that yours i.e. do you get some money from each sale or does someone else get that. I only ask because you have a clickbank product in there that is tucked away and almost invisible which I also know comes with affiliate resources and I don't see them anywhere in your pages. If this all belongs to someone else you're doing the donkey work for someone else to make all the money in which case you need to stop now and work to put the money in your pocket.

Like I say I think it would be good idea for some of the better warriors on here taking a look as I think some improvements could be put in place with what you have to save some time.

      Good luck

      Andrew

This could just be a case of reworking what you've got.

Hey thanks for the review Andrew. I do own the ebooks etc. but I appreciate the input and the keyword focus thoughts. I'll take another look and tighten things up. These are new sites and I haven't spent enough time on them yet.

You people on the forum are great. Wish I had spent more time here in the past. It's great to have someone look at my stuff from an unbiased viewpoint. You see things I overlook.

P.S. If you can't learn to discipline yourself to get the right things done, then you might as well just go work for "the man". He has no problem telling you what to do, how high to jump, when to do it, and for how long. Let him write your paycheck for you as he laughs all the way to the bank.

    OR... discipline yourself.
