Combining videos in Windows Movie Maker Live

I need to combine two videos in Windows Movie Maker Live. I know I can download the first video and then the second video and then just place them together on the time line, but I was wondering if there is anything else I should do so the transition from one video to the other will be seemless.

  • It's difficult to say without first knowing what the content is, but at a guess I'd suggest an 'interlude' slide where you might give summary points of the first video, and / or explain briefly of what is to come in the subsequent video.

  • The best way to find out is to use You Tube as the main board is for discussing making money not people with an issue with there Videos ! and the Mods should have have moved this thread to the off topic section.

    • Actually this does relate to making money because I just had a prospective client request that I do this work for a large number of the client's videos. It is not for my own videos.

  • I asked fellow Warrior's opinions as I did not think Google would have an answer. But I did just check on Google and here is what the search result indicated but I'm still not sure if this is the best solution or not:

    To combine clips
In the Contents pane or on the storyboard, hold down the CTRL key, and then click the contiguous clips you want to combine.

Click Clip, and then click Combine. The name and property information of the first clip in the group is used for the new clip and the time is adjusted accordingly.

    • There you go , just for next time remember write the whole story you will get better responses, I have been making videos for 6 yrs so my advice is throw things together and see what happens quickest way to learn.

    • If your two videos have different content at finish and start, then this wouldn't give a feeling that it's seamless?

Briefly, what is the content in the videos?

  • That's very simple. Other than that you may want to write the subtitles below the video. And also add intro and outro on the video. Also in the end, put a subscribe to your channel or whatever to capture them to convert them over and over again.
  • If needed, you can always add a transition between the two videos. Live Movie Maker has a number of transitions.

However, the biggest issue may be the audio for the two videos...is the audio for one video louder than the other? I could be wrong, but I don't think Live Movie Maker has the ability to control the audio levels of each video?

  • It totally depends upto you, if you are expert and choose the videos perfectly, then their will be no transition problem.

    • For some reason when I combined two videos in Windows Live Movie Maker the videos appeared a bit jerky.

So I went ahead and using the Video Spin Blaster software I have to combine the videos and that worked out much better.

The video that I combined was downloaded by me from youtube while the other video was an original video. Not sure if that contributed to the problem.
