Advice on choosing the domain

Hi There,

Im just looking for a bit of advice from the more experienced marketers.

I have picked a niche that i know quite a bit about! Its also quite popular too! WIN WIN i hope!

I am currently in the middle of developing my first of four product sites for this niche which i plan on marketing via PPC.

I currently have Keyword domains for the products i am targeting, however i also have quite a catchy brandable domain which would cover them all. So my question here is, would you build several individual sites targeting each product line or target them all on one brandable domain.

Thanks

BAM

    Hi brokeassmarketer.

I don't think you should be bothered right now to much about a keyword related domain.
What I would do if I was you is to get a expired domain with high authority. BAM you'll get ranked pretty fast without any effort. From there you need good high authority PBN sites that start to link to your domain and you'll be in the top 3 for whatever keyword you want to be on Google. So my advice is to get an old expired high authority domain first. Just make sure that that domain isn't blacklisted on Google but it is easy to find that out.

Thank me later for this great tip.

I would suggest to focus on one niche per web site or domain..The more focused your web sites become, the higher the probability that it would succeed..So here the Focus is the Key!

I know that PBNs are very effective and people do well from them.

However, Google frowns on them and I'd guess that they will be targetted in future Google Updates.

As far as the domain is concered I would have have a different domain for each product.

However, if the products are closely related could product B, C and D become a 'upsells' / 'downsells' in your sales funnel for product A?

Then you might only need one site.

I think it would depend on how closely they are related and the size of the niche(s)

Target them all to brandable domain is better. I think it will have the greater impact in long term

Establishing a brand will take some time.
So if you think you can get these niches on your branded domain, then do it.
Like what multiplecloud said, "..it will have the greater impact in long term"; which is true. Build it now, and optimize your keywords. Then categorize and create unique pages and meta data for it.

I like to use short 2 word domains that have 1 seo keyword and 1 "brandable" work or post/pre fix.

Just as an example off the top of my head ionshoes.com, healthia.com, etc.

That way it does not seem too spammy and it gives the site a web "start up" feel, and you still get some seo benefit.

Expired domains are great. But if you dont know to analyze the domain previous history carefully, then you will waste your money.

Better make a domain name between 6 - 7 characters long. Name should be easy to remember, so that you can make it as a brand name in future. If you are able to get a domain name with your main keyword in it,, then its really great. Example Seooz.com looks better for seo as a main keyword and make it as a brand in future.
