Hello !

I am an employee in a web agency , I was developer, and now I'm head of web project. I want to start a new business on the Internet , I can invest something like $ 3,000 and I can work 20 hours a week before leaving my job and invest all my time in this new business ...

I have technical skills, some knowledge in SEO & web culture but I do not know how I can optimize my time and money to start a real business ... In 2 words I do not have a strategy and I need your help

Thanks a lot

    Create your own web agency.
Hire some friends (with related skills certainly) near you with your $3,000.
Hunt for the projects on: freelancer, upwork, peopleperhour, even fiverr... and etc.
Train your friends to handle the job like you do or know based on your experiences.
And... that's it... be a boss and owner at the same time.
    Enjoy your life...

Your $3,000.00 is meaningless if you do not know what you are doing or how to do it. Spend some of that 20 hours a week, reading and learning and decide on a format/strategy you want to pursue. Then start building your business.

You will soon realize that you can get off to a really good start by only spending a few hundred bucks up front.

Cash is king in a new business . . . hold onto yours until you understand online marketing and where to best spend your money. You need to choose your business niche and selling model first. The Warrior Forum is a great place to learn all about getting started.

If you can, pick a business niche where there is already high demand in the marketplace and where you may have a headstart advantage given you past experience, education, training, and interest.

      The very best to you,

      Steve

You need a domain name, and hosting first, after that see what you want to monetize, you can sell your own products or using affiliate prorgrams, Google adsense and more. There are thousands of ways to make money using a website. Just choose a way and focus on it, SEO the website to the top of Google for keywords that have reasonable amount of searches per month.

As a thumb of rule, focus on 1 website at a time. And once that site profiting and you feel that it is stable, you can go into more niches to make more money. However, do not build too many sites. I would recommend 12 or less websites, so you can manage those sites without any problems.

It is a good plan to start your business beside your job. Please take my thanks for taking this good plan. Then I would like to say you should start that business, in which niche you are really expert. As you are are developer of a web agency. So you can start work in this section. If you want to invest $3000. It is enough for you first time. Best of luck.

Head over to the offline section and look at the questions posted there about getting started. Read the threads on cold calling. Also look up iamnameless. he had a great WSO this time last year about building a web agency from scratch.

Save most of your money for a later date. Don't quit your current job till your own business exceeds your current income. Learn how to write good copy and direct mail business that need web-site design. Lots of tips on this forum but you have to do your research !

    Good Luck.

There are so many different ways to make money on the Internet today. You need to ask very specifically. Thinking long term Id start as an affiliate and start growing my contact list straight away.

Be good to your list and your list will be good back.

You can be online with an autoresponder service for only 11 buck per month. Running a business means you intend to make a profit so with that said Id set myself aside a $500 per month advertising budget to start with. Be very, very careful with your advertising. Thats why I suggest just $500. Start small and learn and grow at the same time.

Making money online or off simply comes down to supply and demand. We now have a tool here to supply that demand with from whereever we want.

Create, build up, and flip money making sites

Since you're a developer, you can easily suck up traffic from social media

The best part of this approach is that you don't have to spend much money on original content.

Google News sites are the most lucrative.

If I were you I build out a sales funnel, test and optimize it. After I've proven its profitability, I can invest that money on paid traffic which runs on autopilot - with little input from my end.

That's what most successful internet marketers do. Once they've gotten a proven funnel, all they do is fuel the funnel with traffic and it brings in ROI with very little input from them.

All you just need do is to monitor the funnel and optimize it to the ends of the world.

What do you mean to validate a niche is profitable?

All niches are profitable. And the fact is you can't compare every niche just to find out which one is the most profitable better than the others. That would be the wrong approach to choose a niche.

You have to choose the one you have passion with. The one that you like most. The one that you will give your soul to it. And certainly you need to know it from the very beginning.

It's like asking people... Is she the correct girl for my future wife?
There'll be no right answer for that. You have to do your own investigation on her.
And the simple way is by introduce yourself to her and ask her to be your friend first.
Then ask her for the first date. Then... blablabla... and so on...
It's only you who know her after all and decide to go further with her or not.

        Hope it helps.
        Have a nice day.

Like the others said...$3,000 doesn't mean much if you don't know what to do or if your not willing to keep putting in the work and effort to get what you want out of this.

When we are new to anything, we learn my making mistakes...

    'Failing Forward'.

We as human beings will make mistakes over 90% of the time. But we must take into consideration what we learned, re adjust and keep moving forward.

I read posts from some people who claimed to be 'lurking' around this forum for years trying to become knowledgeable BEFORE getting started in anything.

Others are telling you to keep your money and learn before you start anything.

However, the only way to learn IM is by one thing...

    DOING!

Can you imagine trying to become a doctor, lawyer, police officer or even a truck driver by just 'compiling' info to try and get educated so you won't make any mistakes?

    That's ridiculous.

The only people who make money consistently online are the people who weren't afraid of making mistakes.

No matter what you do, you will lose money, time and lots of effort. But this is the price of success.

I would advise you to get started in something that 'resonates' with you.

You don't have to spend all of your money, just start with an 'investment' of a hundred bucks and just move forward.

    Sorry for my rant.

You should save the $3,000 for paid traffic after you learn some basics and get something set up. You already have the tech skills, so no problem there. But just like everyone else, no matter what you set up, you'll need good, targeted traffic, and the best kind is paid.

$3k gives you a nice budget for that, just make sure you do a lot of testing of your traffic sources, and don't spend a lot at first. Test, test, and test some more.

  • Just make sure you have a solid game plan and enough research into the niche you choose before spending any money.
