I have a very deep interest in

1. AA battery flashlights
2. binoculars

advisable to start an affiliate website on these products?

any money to be made here? There don't seem to be many info products? How would you classify flashlights and binoculars together?

        No one is going to give you any specific numbers.

        The best way to begin your investigation is to actually search your product (key words), see if there are other sites ranking for those keywords, actually LOOK at those sites, LOOK at how they are monetizing, and then determine if you want to go further.

        Those sites will be your future competition. You can learn pretty much every thing you need to know by studying them.

    Based on what I see, if you have some dough to pay for steady traffic, there's room for profit here.

    Some are doing 100% organic, some are doing paid traffic. But there's room.
