I would LOVE your help. Please let me know what you think:

The "small yet irritating" problem, that "will take us hours to resolve, but an expert could solve it for us in minutes"

I have been an Internet entrepreneur for more than a decade and discovered that one of the difficulties of being a "one man show" is that many times I was stuck with a unique problem, with a "this will take me hours to resolve, but an expert could solve it for me in minutes" problem.

The thing is that even when I was prepared to pay to someone to solve the current "problem" the time it took me to find that "expert" was many times LONGER than it would have taken me to investigate and do it on my own.

So, I thought, why won't I create a service in which a group of experts in various fields (online marketing, affilate marketing, programming, app building, seo, ppc, list building, etc.) will be available 24/7 and will solve any of the "small yet irritating" issues we stumble upon.

The idea is, you send your question, it is redirected to the relevant expert on the team, you get a quote (supposed to be a low price quote, since the service will aim to the "small yet irritating" problems) and if agreed the expert will send you an answer.

Would you use this kind of service? What would you change to make it better? What am I missing? Any input from you is better than gold for me, and I will repay you with tons of good karma

    Right now ..at this moment in time .yes I would use such a service, but it would have to be quick.. I have a problem which once my hosting support gets back to me, will likely be resolved... but it's Christmas, so who knows how long that will be.

    Your idea sounds good, but the time factor is the one which will sell it. how quick can you act

      @Graham Maddison: i guessed time is an important factor. do you find yourself a lot in a position in which you would pay for a quick instant advice/help/support?

      @Brent Stangel, I agree that there are lots of sites in which you can get help. I just have the feeling that for the "small questions" it is always a headache to find an expert (not to mention that most expert won't work for small tasks, e.g., 5 minutes work and such). do you agree or do I miss something?

    It would depend on who these people are.

    There are a lot of "experts" on micro job sites.

    yeah good idea, I think it should be a bit like a social website. Where people refer one another.
    like what facebook does: you post a question, and other people comment with a tagged person.

    Don't know how it would be structured or priced... But when you are stuck on some little detail
    or problem, it truly sucks a lot of productive time away. Not to mention your mood!
    Personally, I mostly get stuck on technical stuff re. my website etc.

    Do you have an example?

    I find very few questions that can't be answered with a Google search, YouTube or post in a related forum.

    And if it can't be answered by any of the above it's usually an obscure enough question that chances of easily finding an expert, even through a service like you suggest, would be difficult.

    Are you planning on paying the experts to participate and be available or would it be a free community like... oh, I don't know, Quora?

      The first service you need to resolve is traffic - targeted converting traffic. Once you resolve that, you can run a ton of different businesses.

      There are ample places for expert advice for free. If you do not have a way to get targeted traffic and to convert that traffic, you will have to put in a lot of effort and will not be able to keep experts on hand for the eventuality of a valid inquiry.

      There is one such expert advice site and another which I am an expert on, and I know how it goes. Suffice to say that I recommend a solid on site conversion tactic and an established, effective traffic system to be in place as the heart of your operation.

      It's not good enough to have an idea or see a need, you need to understand and know how to bring steady targeted traffic to it. This should be what you invest your money into learning, practicing, testing and perfecting.

      The Professor is wrong. The first problem isn't traffic. Traffic is the second problem.

      The first problem is trust. Why should I believe that your arbitrage site is really filled with "experts" and not just taking my question and farming it out on Fiverr or something?

      What makes you different than every other freelance site on the web?

    I know a number of times over the years I have come to some technical issues that have literally put me behind by weeks. Just one small problem can cause you days of stagnation.

    I gather if it has happened to me it has happened to others.

    And I bet it has been a huge problem for them on occasion.
