What legal issues have you encountered?
A few friends have contacted me in the past couple of months about legal issues they've had -- two around debts, and one around intellectual property -- b/c they think I know something. Actually, I've taken the time to read some of the relevant laws in this area so I'm probably better informed than most folks. For the record, I'm not a lawyer. (Funny thing is, whatever I tell them, they never take my advice anyway, so ... why do they bother asking?)
But it has made me curious ... what kinds of legal issues and situations people have been encountering in the IM world.
My guess is that lots of people are running into the same situations over and over, but nobody is talking about it much. And lots of issues are coming up that are not being recognized as "legal issues".
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that if there's any kind of an offer being made, followed by acceptance of the offer (ie., an "agreement"), then virtually ANYTHING that arises from it later is a "legal issue".
(I'm simply trying to give you a light to help you illuminate potential issues in your life. If you think you may have some currently, contact a lawer.)
So I'm curious what kinds of problems Warriors HAVE encountered. I suspect the most common one would be, "I hired someone to some work, paid a deposit, and they disappeared". Another I've seen here is, "I hired someone to write 'unique' content and later found out it was copied".
What else? (If anything anybody posts has happened to you, chime in, because I'm also interested in HOW OFTEN these things occur.)
