How can I track paypal conversions?

I have my own product and currently use adwords to track which keywords are converting but I would like to be able to track more stats like at which point they buy like ie if its in the first or third email more like how clickbank uses tid. Have you got any advise on which software tracking. I have checkecked prosper and it really seemed complicated for me. Just need something simple. Dont mind paying a few dollars for software tracking

      Can you give a more detailed answer? I'm afraid that your previous answer made no sense to me and did not even begin to address the issue at hand here.

    You need to return them to a "Thank You" page after they make the purchase ( you set this up at PayPal) You then add that page to Google Analytics as a conversion page.

    If you make a PayPal button it says something like:
    'Take customers to this URL when they finish checkout' Enable that to the URL you wish them to go to, and track that URL

    I believe there is a Global version of this you can enable also under "Money" or "Profiles" that will make them go there after a purchase even if you use a third party processor.

      Any literature on this?


      Also I have heard from a few people that have done this that claim that it just stopped working all of a sudden. Also what all databanks info can I get access to by using this method. My site simply sells memberships as the product and using PayPal as payment gateway.


      Do you know of any software or plugins that I can use for accomplishing this?

    What plugin do you use for membership ? As suggested by PBScott, if you add google analytics code on all your pages ( including login, registration, and thank you page ) you can see all data there
