PPV and list building with affiliate (cpa) offers as the money maker.. (For me at least)
I've also used other traffic sourced but I use PPV more than others.

I'm not sure which PPV sites Chris uses, but ones that I use and like are:

      Trafficvance
      LeadImpact

I've also had some okay success with 50onRed

As far as affiliate marketing strategies go... I've also had a lot of success with video marketing on youtube, podcasting, blogging, and publishing books on Kindle.

IMO the top two are trafficvance and 50onred. Rapsio is decent but doesn't have as much traffic as the other two.

  • I have only done list building and SEO. I have used a lot of different traffic sources for list building, more often trying different solo ad providers.

For SEO it took me a while to get good traffic to my website. I have invested a lot of time, effort, and money in creating good content to my website and for marketing. It was really a long process before my website gained good traffic from my SEO efforts.

I think SEO is also not a bad idea, and it may take you a while to gain profits, but with a low cost.

I think SEO actually IS a bad idea, especially for someone who's just starting out... You firstly need to learn SEO, then apply it, then wait for results which are not guaranteed, then fight competition and worry about possible changes at the big ol' G. Sounds like too much work and time for questionable results.

My recommendation is list building with paid traffic (fastest results) and analytic tools in place (especially split testing for better conversions). That requires some investments but you can actually paid it off very quickly.

There is no hard and fast rule. The same method that works for nobody might work for you and vice versa. You gotta test the waters. Goodluck!

The longer I am at this the more I think list building and paid traffic are the only reliable, scalable ways to build an online business.

SEO and social is so fleeting and out of my control. Plus, both take a really long time to get any momentum going.

Your list is your businesses most valuable asset regardless to your niche.

Traffic -> Squeeze page -> Follow up emails.

List building has been the most effective for me. Even when people were listening to gurus who said "email is done" or "email marketing is dead" - it still made me the most money as opposed to the other options (ex: direct linking). So whether you're promoting your own product or an affiliate vendor's product, list building and opt-in email marketing is the way to go.

So far for me joining a revshare program was the most profitable as I am making about $47 daily after just 2 months. It took me sometime to join though as I hated revshare progams in the past. I believe revshare programs have gotten a bad name and many of them were not honest and were out to make some quick money and closed or should I say forced to close in their infancy stage. So I had to do an extensive research on the company before I did join. So what I can now say is that not all revshare programs are bad and you just need to do your research to find the right one to join to make serious money.

All the affiliate/cpa offers that I promote, I drive traffic by acquiring data (email), rather than using traditional list building methods. This is how I have done it for just over 16 years now and it can be extremely profitable.

However, there is more to it than just buying data and sending it and really it's more of a business model, than a standalone marketing strategy. Where by the data comes first, then based on what it is, that will then define what offers would be the best to use to monetize it. Rather than I have a product I want to sell and need to find data that would work with it...doing it this way is far more limiting.

So really I foremost acquire data and then use appropriate affiliate/cpa offers to monetize it.

How do you acquire email addresses? Scraping? Buying solos?

Scraping violates can-spam and there is no permission. When you run a solo ad, your only getting those that subscribe and your not paying a fixed cost per subscriber. Everything I acquire has a fixed cost per record.

The bulk of the data I get is through data brokers. I also generate co-reg.

Basically I acquire fresh / targeted data that I know what the users are interested in and that a ppl offer exists that matches their interest. I generate real-time co-reg that targets specific ppl offers. I also acquire aged data, which is a bit more involved.

Keep in mind that the data will never be as good as subscribers you generate yourself, so to compensate for this, you work with volume. Which is fine, as it gives you the ability to scale massively and quickly...as your funds permit. Then you just clean, prune and segment into high quality data.

Of course there is much more involved.

The downside is that it's a business that takes money to make money. The upside is that it really does work and can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, does 6-7 figures. While that is a huge range, much comes down to the ability to scale and effectively managing the infrastructure that comes with scaling.

    Hi Darren,

One of the things I am focusing on lately is High ticket affiliate programs and recurring offers.

One easy way is to create a rebrandable report(s) and share it in your email signature, on Skype, this forum (your signature), through social media, etc.

Create something of value. Funnel it through a squeeze page. Build a list.

After that, think of each person in your list as a real person. Connect with them, help them, give them value. In other words, build a long term relationship with them.

When you recommend something to them they will in the end buy something from you, because they
    trust you.

Let me know if you need help understanding this,

    Kind regards,
    Robin

These are all aspects of successful marketing. You need to a creative website, a lead capture page, a list and other methods to 'compliment' your already existing marketing like PPC (optional) ETC.

Luck has nothing to do with anything.

As a former affiliate program manager and recruiter, this approach always worked best and I would say that almost word for word in my training. I'll also add that the more related you can keep your affiliate product offerings to the core product or service someone came to you for originally, the better chance of inspiring them to trust your recommendations.

For example, if I build a website for a client, I might do that work but then suggest they go to my affiliate program domain name registrar to buy more domains. I might suggest they go to another affiliate link to buy an AdWords training program I recommend or attend a web marketing conference with me next month where I would get 50% of their registration fee.

But, if I say to that same person, "Big O is having a sale on tires this week." I can expect cricket-like silence.
